Camping Lou Gourdan
Camping Lou Gourdan is found in the heart of the Alpes-Maritimes. You'll be just a short drive from not one but three national parks: the  Mercantour, the Verdon Gorge, and the Préalpes d'Azur. On-site, there are 24 touring pitches with 10-amp electric hook-up points available. The pitches are meticulously landscaped and level, bordered by hedges and punctuated by charming lampposts. Lshade from young trees provides the ideal shade needed during the summer months.
Camping Parc Bellevue
This is a straightforward site to approach but unusual as you go through the suburbs of Cannes past supermarkets, shopping complexes and cinemas; when you go through the industrial area, you have doubts.
Sites et Paysages les Pinèdes
Les Pinèdes is 7 km. inland from the busy coast, at the centre of all the attractions of the Côte d’Azur, yet far enough away to be a peaceful retreat at the end of a busy day. Run by the third generation of family owners, the site is terraced on a wooded hillside where olives and vines used to grow. All 108 touring pitches are level and have electricity (6-10A), most also with water and they are separated by low bushes. There are also 41 mobile homes and chalets available to rent. In May the evenings are alive with fireflies.
Camping La Provençale
Artcamping Plateau des Chasses can be found close to the beaches of the Côte d’Azur, with easy access from the A8 motorway. This site has been developed as a centre for creating and displaying all manner of art works. These are displayed around the site, interspersed between eucalyptus, mimosa, oak and pine. There are 131 terraced pitches, all with electrical connections and generally well shaded. A number of mobile homes and chalets are available to rent, including a mobile home specially adapted with accessible facilities. On-site facilities include a swimming pool, sports field and convivial restaurant, specialising in Provençal cuisine.
Camping Tikayan La Pinatelle
Camping Tikayan La Pinatelle is a campsite nestled on the heights of the Alpes Maritimes, halfway between Nice-Grasse and the Verdon countryside. It offers a superb view of the village of Saint Auban and its cliffs. On-site, there are 27 touring pitches, which have electric hook-up points available. Pitches are delimited, and mature pine trees cover the majority of the campsite, giving plenty of shade during the summer.
Camping Au Vallon Rouge
Situated in the valley next to the river Loup, this small site lies close to the Côte d’Azur, but up in the hills away from all the bustle of the Mediterranean coast. The climate here is pleasant with fine days, but cooler evenings. The entrance to the site is a little tight, but once installed you can truly relax amongst the cork, oak, pine and mimosa. The three hectare site is reasonably flat with many umbrella pines for shade. There are 60 separated pitches for touring caravans and tents, 60-90 sq.m. in size and all with 10A electricity. Some pitches are on the banks of the Loup.
Camping de l’Argentière
This well situated site, currently under dynamic new ownership, is open all year and is located in the stylish resort of Mandelieu-la-Napoule, with easy access to Cannes and Nice. There are 62 well shaded pitches with 25 for touring units, most with electricity. Mobile homes to rent are placed on the remaining 37 pitches. Many attractive trees and shrubs have been planted around the site, including eucalyptus and mimosa. The nearest beach (La Napoule) is 800 m. Several municipal tennis courts are adjacent, and the Mandelieu golf club is also very close. On-site amenities include a bar, restaurant and a small gym. The new owners are working hard to update the site and when we visited had just completed a new toilet block incorporating the latest equipment.
Camping Green Park
Green Park is now part of the Homair group and is currently managed by Max and Alex L’Honen. The part of the site which used to be on the opposite side of the road is now a campsite in its own right and also owned by Homair. Situated just over 4 km. from the beaches at Cagnes-sur-Mer, this is predominantly a site with around 100 chalets and mobile homes to rent. There are just 58 pitches for tents only due to the steep incline on which the terraces are situated. In fact, after the second terrace, no children under ten years are allowed. Cars cannot be parked on the pitches but can park close by. Touring motorhomes and caravans are not accepted at this site.
Camping la Vieille Ferme
In a popular resort area that is open all year, la Vieille Ferme is an oasis of calm. Just 1 km from the sea and 4km from Antibes, located halfway between Nice and Cannes yet set in a wooded location (which offers much-needed shade in the high season). The site offers 119 pitches divided by established hedging with 6-10 amp EHU, and 95 are fully serviced. The campsite is surrounded by Parc Vaugrenier, a protected natural area of 110 hectares containing woodland and meadows with a bird observatory, children's play area and fitness trail. It is a natural area ideal for long family walks, hiking, and dog walking. There are special winter rates for long stays, and quite a few long-stay units are on-site during the winter. The entrance to the site is welcoming and very colourful, with well-tended flower beds. English is spoken at reception, and the whole place has a very friendly feel to it.
Camping Caravaning les Gorges du Loup
Les Gorges du Loup is situated on a steep hillside above Grasse. The one-kilometre lane which leads to the site is narrow with passing places. Around 70 pitches are on level terraces (all with electricity 6/10A), shaded by oak and olive trees, some of which are several hundred years old. Some pitches are only suitable for tents and the site roads are quite steep but the very friendly and enthusiastic owners, who speak a little English, can provide 4x4 assistance. A quiet family site, there is no organised entertainment here. There are stunning views over the Gorges du Loup and Gourdon — a hilltop village, recognised as one of the most beautiful in France.
Ranch Camping
Ranch Camping is a very basic, French-flavoured site. The ambience here is calm and there is relatively little by way of entertainment or leisure amenities. The site is very well located for the beaches of Cannes, just 2 km. away; a regular bus service runs 300 m. past the site entrance. Despite its urban setting the site enjoys a tranquil position on a wooded hillside. There are 102 touring pitches of varying sizes, which are generally level and well shaded, all with 6A electricity connections. The swimming pool is quite small and can be covered in low season. Other leisure facilities are nearby.
Origan Village Naturiste
Origan is a naturist site set in the mountains behind Nice at a height of 500 m. The access road is single track and winding with passing places. The site’s terrain is fairly wild and some roads are stony, so it is unsuitable for caravans longer than six metres due to the steep slopes. The 60 touring pitches across the site, are irregular shapes and sizes and have good views. Electricity connection (6A) is possible on most pitches (by long cable). The bar area, backing onto an impressive rock face (lit at night), overlooks a very attractive pool complex. Reservation is necessary in high season.
La Ferme Riola
La Ferme Riola is a very small site with just 50 pitches for touring and six gîtes attractively dispersed amongst olive trees around the four-hectare terrain. Areas for touring units are spread all around the site, mostly situated on the terraces. Pitches are large and generally well shaded. All are equipped with electrical connections. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, a volleyball court and a children’s playground. This is a working farm and fresh produce including olives, olive oil and fresh eggs, is available at the site’s small shop.
Yelloh! Village Camping Saint Louis
Yelloh! Village Saint Louis is situated in the heart of a peaceful, protected, sun-drenched landscape only 5km from Cannes. Here you will find a wide range of upmarket accommodation options and an exceptional aquatic park set in a shady setting amongst mimosa-covered hillsides. The site has 20 grass touring pitches, 15 with 6amp electric hook-up point. There are 100 mobile homes available for rent.
Camping le Rossignol
Le Rossignol's small and quiet campsite has 111 terraced pitches on a gentle, sloping site in a quiet, urban area northeast of Antibes. There are 84 pitches for touring, all with electricity, the remaining pitches being used for mobile homes to rent. The site is close to the coast, with the beach 1.2 km. away through the town, it is ideally located to explore Antibes or the wider French Riviera.
Camping Domaine de la Bergerie
La Bergerie is a quiet, family owned site, situated in the hills about 3km from Vence and Saint Paul de Vence. 10km from the sea at Cagnes sur Mer. This extensive, lightly wooded site has been left very natural and is in a secluded position about 300m above sea level. Because of the trees most of pitches are shaded and all are of a good size. It is a large site but because it is so extensive it does not give that impression. There are 434 pitches, 300 with electricity (66 also with water and drainage) and 4 of them with private sanitary. Ther are also various types of accommodation to rent including the new Mobile Home Malaga Duo. Because of the nature of this site some pitches are a litle distance from the toilet blocks.
Camping le Sequoia
Camping le Sequoia is a family run, family orientated site with carefully maintained facilities and a beautiful pool. The owner, who is justifiably proud of her oasis of calm greenery in this very busy tourist area, lives on site. It is only 800 metres from the new SNCF station at Biot with a very frequent train service that serves the entire coast from Monaco, Nice and Cannes to Antibes. A small, quiet site, there are just 20 touring pitches (with 6-10A electricity) and 24 mobile homes for rent. Beaches are 800 m. distant and the spectacular theme parks of Marineland and Aquasplash are a short walk along the N7. The Riviera has something for everyone and this site would make an excellent base to explore the department of Alpes-Maritime.
Parc Saint James le Sourire
Le Sourire is a member of the Parc Saint-James group. There are 411 pitches here and many are occupied by mobile homes and chalets, many residential. However, there are about 80 touring pitches dispersed throughout the wooded terrain, some of which are on soft sandy soil. Electricity (6A) is available on 42. A stream runs through the camping area and it can flood. A large swimming pool has a regular programme of activities. Some pitches are close to the main road so you may experience some road noise.
Camping la Camassade
Camping la Camassade is a beautiful rural site set on a hillside in Provence, just 10 minutes drive from the medieval village of Tourrettes-Sur Loup. The site occupies a 100-year-old Olive Grove; the 40 pitches are spacious 100 m2, and all have electricity, although a long hook-up lead may be required for some pitches. This is a no-frills site, and you really are in the French countryside.
Camping Naturiste le Haut Chandelalar
Camping le Haut Chandelalar is a spacious, family run naturist campsite high in the Alpes Maritimes, east of Castelallane and only 1 km. from Brianconnet. The site covers an area of ten hectares, laid out on terraces and the higher pitches have sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. The 70 grass pitches are car-free during high season, reasonably level and naturally laid out in woodland glades offering some shade. All have 10A electricity (Europlug). After an active day you can relax by the pool or around the bar and then enjoy a gourmet meal prepared by the very entertaining site owner.

Côte d'Azur

The sleepy villages, sunny vineyards and pretty lavender fields of Provence sit in stark contrast to the cosmopolitan towns and thronging beaches of the Côte d’Azur, one of France’s most popular destinations

St Tropez

The glittering Côte d’Azur, perhaps better known as the French Riviera, is a beautiful stretch of coast studded with sophisticated towns such as the famous Monte Carlo, Nice, and Cannes, not forgetting the other famous and arguably the most glamorous resort of St Tropez. With its vast golden sandy beaches and long lazy hours of sunshine, this is a paradise for sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts. It’s a spectacular coast of rugged coves and warm seas. The quaint harbours and fishing villages have become chic destinations, now full of pleasure yachts, harbour-side cafés and crowded summertime beaches. Inland, St Paul-de-Vence, with its shops and galleries, and Grasse, the perfume capital of the world, are popular destinations for visitors, surrounded by the Provençal lavender fields and shady olive groves that fill the air with a magical scent at certain times of the year.
