Domaine Sainte Madeleine is an attractive, peaceful site with a swimming pool amongst spectacular mountain scenery. It is about 20 km. inland from Menton and very near the Italian border. The approach to this site involves a 17 km. climb with hairpin bends and then a choice of going over the Col de Castillon or through an 800 m. long tunnel (3.5 m. high, 3 m. wide). Situated on a terraced hillside with mountain views towards Italy, manoeuvring within the site presents no problem as the pitches are on level, well drained grass. The lower ones have good shade but those higher up on the hill have less. Electricity (10A) is available on all 90 pitches.

There are few activities on site but the surrounding area is just waiting to be explored. There are large car parking areas in the nearby town of Sospel and a bus or train will take you to the Mediterranean coastal towns of Menton or Nice. Parking near the coast is difficult in high season, so the bus or train is the recommended form of transport. The tourist train ‘Le train des merveilles’ (described as the most scenic railway in Europe) runs from Nice to Cuneo and passes through Sospel. There are way-marked walks for serious walkers in the surrounding hills. English is spoken.

Swimming pool (140 sq.m, heated in spring and autumn). Childrens play, petanque, badminton and ping-pong area. Free WiFi throughout. Charcoal barbecues not permitted. Chalets to rent.

From A8 take Menton exit and head north towards Sospel on D2566. In Sospel continue on D2566 towards Moulinet, cold de Turini. Site is 4 km. north of Sospel on the left.
