East Fleet Farm has a marvellous situation on part level, part gently sloping meadows leading to the shores of the Fleet, with views across to the famous Chesil Bank with the sea beyond. The Whitfield family has developed this park within the confines of their 300-acre organic arable farm in keeping with its surroundings, yet with modern amenities. It is maturing well as bushes and trees grow.
Escape to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the site includes part of the World Heritage Coastline, famous for its scenic beauty. The site itself is an open, partially sloping field surrounded by farmland with great views to the sea and Clavell Tower on one side and the Purbeck Hills on the other. Kimmeridge Bay, which is also part of the Smedmore Estate, is famous for fossils, fascinating geological strata and ecologically diverse rock pools. The site has 40 grass/hardstanding pitches (some seasonal) all with electric hook-up. Please note this site does not have a toilet block.
Hunter's Moon Caravan and Motorhome Club site lies just on the edge of the lovely Wareham Forest. This pleasant site, with play area and dog walk, provides an excellent base for touring the lovely area of Dorset. Many of the area's most attractive locations are safeguarded by the National Trust, including substantial stretches of unforgettable scenic coastline. It is rich in combes, cliffs, bays and islands - particularly rewarding for the visitor interested in bird life and walking. The nearby Golden Cap, of which the National Trust owns, 2,000 acres of hills, farmlands and beaches, has the highest cliff in England and delights with its covering of brilliant yellow gorse. The site has 122 grass or hardstanding pitches, 17 of which are serviced and 11 for tents. All but 2 have 16 amp electricity.
Wilksworth Caravan Park is a spacious, quiet park well-suited for families, with a heated outdoor pool designed in a beautiful Spanish style. The rural situation is lovely, just outside Wimborne and around 12 miles from the beaches between Poole and Bournemouth.
Crossways Caravan and Motorhome Club site is an imaginatively landscaped destination set in the midst of 35 acres of lush woodland - ideal when touring in Dorset. Pitching is available in open groves, all of which are linked by a scenic snaking road. This makes for easy access around the site, from the charmingly named Iron Horse Meadows to Poachers Paradise. The railway is a five-minute walk away. The site has 98 mainly grass pitches, some are seasonal. There are also 4 tent pitches and all have electricity 16amp. The site is an imaginatively landscaped destination set in the midst of 35 acres Pitching is available in open groves, all of which are linked by a scenic snaking road. If you want to leave the car behind for an excursion or if you're simply a rail enthusiast, the railway is a five minute walk away. There is a pleasant pub adjacent serving good food. The site is within convenient reach of a wealth of interesting attractions at the nearby town of Weymouth.
Wood Farm is an excellent, family run park, maintained to high standards on terraced, well landscaped ground with rural views across the Marshwood Vale. With an indoor heated pool, tennis court, fishing lakes and a good café open all day, it is well worth a visit. All 149 pitches for touring units have hardstanding and 10 amp electricity, while 57 also have water and waste water. The ground slopes, so most pitches are terraced with some divided by distinctive, box-like leylandii hedging. Around 80 privately owned caravan holiday homes are in separate areas at the bottom of the site whilst 3 are available to let as is a self contained apartment.
Merley Court is part of the Shorefield Group and all aspects of this well planned, attractively landscaped park are constantly maintained to the highest of standards. Tarmac roads connect 162 touring pitches, all of which have 16A electricity, on neat lawns or one of the many hardstandings. This provision includes 19 serviced pitches with water, waste disposal and satellite TV. The entire park is interspersed with a variety of shrubs, plants and the odd ornamental urn. Twelve lodges, seven with hot tubs, are located in a wooded valley. A well furnished club complex provides a lounge bar where meals are available.
This popular club site is visited year after year by many due to its ideal location for exploring the Dorset Jurassic coast and the Isle of Purbeck. As with all CAMC sites you expect high standards and here you will not be disappointed. With a total of 55 pitches, all with 16 amp electricity, 39 are level hardstanding and 16 on grass. The central sanitary block, motorhome service point and two service areas offer everything you will need. Harmans Cross station is just a short walk offering steam trains to Corfe Castle or Swanage. With great views down the valley towards the coast this site is ideal for visiting everything the area has to offer; from the Tank museum in Bovington to the beaches in Swanage and even Monkey World. Ideal for walking and cycling or just a quiet rest. There are numerous public footpaths and coastal walks near the site for walking enthusiasts, and if you are a beach lover you will be a short distance from the sandy beaches of Swanage or the glorious stretch of golden sands at Studland Bay. This peacefully located and spacious park, on the edge of Wareham Forest, has 200 pitches and is continually being upgraded by its enthusiastic owners, Tony and Sarah Birch. The focal point of the park is the modern reception and shop, located by the pools. Four main areas provide a wide choice of touring pitches from grass to hardstanding and luxury, all with 16A electricity. Tent campers have their own choice of open field or pinewood. The site has provided direct access for walkers into the forest or the seven miles of the Sika cycle trail may be used.
Family run parks for families with direct access to their own private beach are rare in Britain and this one has the added advantage of being in beautiful coastal countryside in West Dorset. It now offers the Jurassic Fun Centre with pools, gym, bowling and a café. This building has a living, ‘green’ roof supporting native species of salt-tolerant grass and wildflowers which helps the complex merge into the landscape and includes many eco-friendly features. The park is next to the sea and a beach of fine pebbles, sheltered from the wind by pebble banks. Approached by a fairly steep access road, the park itself is on level, open ground. The 500 touring pitches, 400 with 10A electricity, are on an open, undulating grass field connected by tarmac or hardcore roads. Caravan pitches are marked and evenly spaced in lines.
Durdle Door has a unique situation overlooking the Purbeck coastline with views of Portland Bill. There is public access to Lulworth Cove by the coastal path and private access to Durdle Door beach. Part of the Lulworth estate, which includes Lulworth Castle, the Children’s Farm and the Heritage Centre at Lulworth Cove, it is well managed. The park is situated partly on gently sloping grassland, and partly in woodland areas. The majority of the 425 pitches are occupied by caravan holiday homes (privately owned or 30 to let) leaving 60 for touring units, 16 with 6-16A electricity. The open touring fields are interspersed between the rows of holiday homes.
Victoria, Martin and Family and their team of rangers offer a very warm welcome, and you can see this site is not just a family business but a passion. Back of Beyond is a peaceful 30 acre site located within easy reach of Bournemouth, The South Coast and The New Forest. Consisting of 142 pitches in total 89 with electricity and 20 hardstanding, 45 tent pitches and 9 glamping/yurt/pods. There is an 18 acre wood where dogs can run free, dogs are very welcome and even have their own shower wash. A wildlife lake with Special Scientific Interest status area (SSI) and a pétanque pitch. The shop is licensed, very well stocked with fresh local produce and sells camping/calor gas. Adjoining this is a covered licensed bar, social area and the main reception.
With an impressive situation, Littlesea is one of Haven’s flagship parks with an amazing range of facilities and overlooking the lagoon and Chesil beach. A total of 800 pitches allows for a good number of privately owned mobile homes, with more still for sale and to rent, plus a splendid touring area (155 pitches) on the cliff top with sea views. Most pitches have 16A electricity. Some small simple tent pitches are perched right on the cliff top. As with other Haven Parks, there are indoor and outdoor pools, a wide range of sporting activities including a multisports court and entertainment for all the family.
Sandford Park is an ‘all singing, all dancing’ park with a wide range of facilities, close to the popular coastal areas of Dorset. It has a large permanent section with caravan holiday homes and lodges. However, the touring section is in an attractive secluded area and can accommodate around 354 units of any type. The pitches are mainly on level grass, either with mature evergreen hedging, or in a more open style area broken up by shrubs. All have 10A electricity connections and 13 are fully serviced. Early booking is advisable.
Higher Moor Farm is an award winning, quiet, family orientated campsite catering for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Generous pitches on a level field offer views over beautiful rolling Dorset countryside. Located in the village of Nottington, only a short drive from the famous golden sands of Weymouth bay, the Isle of Portland, home of the 2012 Olympic Sailing Events, the famous Jurassic Coast and the historic county town of Dorchester. The family who run Higher Moor have farmed here for over 40 years, so can answer any questions or give tips on what to see and do in the surrounding countryside. Daniel and his friendly team will do their best to ensure you have a tiptop stay, with facilities and services kept to the highest standards. The site has 46 hard-standing pitches with electrical and water hook-ups. The site also has 22 glamping pods available to rent.
Harrow Wood Farm Caravan Park is a small family park, set in 80 acres of farmland in the village of Bransgore, just within the New Forest National Park. It has 63 hardstanding pitches for tourers, all with 10A electricity. They are not hedged and have little shade. The on-site coarse fishing lake is free to residents, and has a one mile circular walk. Harrow Wood is an ideal base for camping and caravanning in the New Forest, and a local bus service runs to the local towns of Christchurch, Ringwood and Lymington.
Nestling in the lush West Dorset countryside, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Graston Copse Holiday Park is a perfect choice for walkers, cyclists, couples, families and even budding geologists - it is within easy walking distance of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Twenty-five of the 38 grass pitches are for touring units and all have electricity hook-ups. They are set in some three acres of well maintained and landscaped grounds, with some shade from mature trees at the edge. The River Bridge runs alongside the site, and a pleasant walk along its banks brings you to the charming village of Burton Bradstock with its 16th- and 17th-century thatched cottages and two great pubs serving food.
This very lively and busy Haven holiday park has 1,000 pitches, the majority taken by privately owned caravan holiday homes and 350 units to rent. This leaves just 27 for touring units. These flat pitches all have electricity, hardstanding and a grass area for awnings. One of the main attractions at Rockley Park is the sheltered beach which provides watersports and views of the beautiful harbour at Poole. Touring guests may use all the amenities on the park, including swimming pools and sports facilities. There is much evening entertainment in the bars and a variety of activity clubs for children of all ages.
Joanne and David are rightly proud of what they have achieved at South Lytchett Manor and, along with their staff, try hard to meet all your needs and make you very welcome. It has an unusual situation on parkland either side of what was once one of the driveways to the manor itself with impressive gates at the entrance. The 150 touring pitches are level, of a good size, with TV connections and electricity. There are 85 available with gravel hardstanding and a good number also have water, waste water connections and a picnic bench. They are neatly landscaped with rural views. Poole is just three miles away and a 20 minute drive will take you to Bournemouth. A member of the Best of British group.
