Merley Court is part of the Shorefield Group and all aspects of this well planned, attractively landscaped park are constantly maintained to the highest of standards. Tarmac roads connect 162 touring pitches, all of which have 16A electricity, on neat lawns or one of the many hardstandings. This provision includes 19 serviced pitches with water, waste disposal and satellite TV. The entire park is interspersed with a variety of shrubs, plants and the odd ornamental urn. Twelve lodges, seven with hot tubs, are located in a wooded valley. A well furnished club complex provides a lounge bar where meals are available.
Hunter's Moon Caravan and Motorhome Club site lies just on the edge of the lovely Wareham Forest. This pleasant site, with play area and dog walk, provides an excellent base for touring the lovely area of Dorset. Many of the area's most attractive locations are safeguarded by the National Trust, including substantial stretches of unforgettable scenic coastline. It is rich in combes, cliffs, bays and islands - particularly rewarding for the visitor interested in bird life and walking. The nearby Golden Cap, of which the National Trust owns, 2,000 acres of hills, farmlands and beaches, has the highest cliff in England and delights with its covering of brilliant yellow gorse. The site has 122 grass or hardstanding pitches, 17 of which are serviced and 11 for tents. All but 2 have 16 amp electricity.
Wood Farm is an excellent, family run park, maintained to high standards on terraced, well landscaped ground with rural views across the Marshwood Vale. With an indoor heated pool, tennis court, fishing lakes and a good café open all day, it is well worth a visit. All 149 pitches for touring units have hardstanding and 10 amp electricity, while 57 also have water and waste water. The ground slopes, so most pitches are terraced with some divided by distinctive, box-like leylandii hedging. Around 80 privately owned caravan holiday homes are in separate areas at the bottom of the site whilst 3 are available to let as is a self contained apartment.
Escape to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the site includes part of the World Heritage Coastline, famous for its scenic beauty. The site itself is an open, partially sloping field surrounded by farmland with great views to the sea and Clavell Tower on one side and the Purbeck Hills on the other. Kimmeridge Bay, which is also part of the Smedmore Estate, is famous for fossils, fascinating geological strata and ecologically diverse rock pools. The site has 40 grass/hardstanding pitches (some seasonal) all with electric hook-up. Please note this site does not have a toilet block.
Wilksworth Caravan Park is a spacious, quiet park well-suited for families, with a heated outdoor pool designed in a beautiful Spanish style. The rural situation is lovely, just outside Wimborne and around 12 miles from the beaches between Poole and Bournemouth.
Crossways Caravan and Motorhome Club site is an imaginatively landscaped destination set in the midst of 35 acres of lush woodland - ideal when touring in Dorset. Pitching is available in open groves, all of which are linked by a scenic snaking road. This makes for easy access around the site, from the charmingly named Iron Horse Meadows to Poachers Paradise. The railway is a five-minute walk away. The site has 98 mainly grass pitches, some are seasonal. There are also 4 tent pitches and all have electricity 16amp. The site is an imaginatively landscaped destination set in the midst of 35 acres Pitching is available in open groves, all of which are linked by a scenic snaking road. If you want to leave the car behind for an excursion or if you're simply a rail enthusiast, the railway is a five minute walk away. There is a pleasant pub adjacent serving good food. The site is within convenient reach of a wealth of interesting attractions at the nearby town of Weymouth.
This popular club site is visited year after year by many due to its ideal location for exploring the Dorset Jurassic coast and the Isle of Purbeck. As with all CAMC sites you expect high standards and here you will not be disappointed. With a total of 55 pitches, all with 16 amp electricity, 39 are level hardstanding and 16 on grass. The central sanitary block, motorhome service point and two service areas offer everything you will need. Harmans Cross station is just a short walk offering steam trains to Corfe Castle or Swanage. With great views down the valley towards the coast this site is ideal for visiting everything the area has to offer; from the Tank museum in Bovington to the beaches in Swanage and even Monkey World. Ideal for walking and cycling or just a quiet rest. There are numerous public footpaths and coastal walks near the site for walking enthusiasts, and if you are a beach lover you will be a short distance from the sandy beaches of Swanage or the glorious stretch of golden sands at Studland Bay. No arrivals before 1.00pm
East Fleet Farm has a marvellous situation on part level, part gently sloping meadows leading to the shores of the Fleet, with views across to the famous Chesil Bank with the sea beyond. The Whitfield family has developed this park within the confines of their 300-acre organic arable farm in keeping with its surroundings, yet with modern amenities. It is maturing well as bushes and trees grow.
Sandford Park is an ‘all singing, all dancing’ park with a wide range of facilities, close to the popular coastal areas of Dorset. It has a large permanent section with caravan holiday homes and lodges. However, the touring section is in an attractive secluded area and can accommodate around 354 units of any type. The pitches are mainly on level grass, either with mature evergreen hedging, or in a more open style area broken up by shrubs. All have 10A electricity connections and 13 are fully serviced. Early booking is advisable.
Close to the Moors Valley Country Park, this friendly, family-run site is within easy reach of the south coast, the resorts of Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole, and the ancient market town of Wimborne Minster. Entry is restricted to couples and families. The seven-acre camping meadow has 100 large, level pitches (51 well-kept seasonal pitches), all with 16A electricity and arranged on either side of a central tarmac road. Reception has a well-stocked shop and a good selection of tourist information. The site is part of a working beef cattle farm, so parents should be aware of moving farm machinery and tractors.
Pineapple Farm Holidays is an adult-only, pet friendly site located deep in the beautiful rolling hills of the Dorset countryside. Ideal for anyone interested in exploring the famous Jurassic Coast along with its seaside towns and historic landmarks, walking the stunning array of footpaths, browsing local arts and crafts or purely sitting and admiring the views from your pitch. Close to the coast, if you think about what you've seen in Broadchurch then you'll know the lovely scenery to expect here. Nestled in the heart of the countryside the site makes for a lovely relaxing getaway, to flush the city air out of your lungs and recharge your batteries. The small on-site shop sells an array of local produce, cider, wine, award winning ice cream (which is made on site), biscuits, jams and much more. The site has received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award on 3 occasions. The site has 29 hardstanding and grass pitches, each including a private fire pit for your use, drinking water and electric hook-up point.
Monkton Wyld combines pitches for the independent camper and for members of The Camping and Caravanning Club. The park prides itself on its conservation efforts and the space and landscaping provided. 140 out of their 150 pitches feature 16A electricity (a few suitable for large R.V’s) and all back against a hedge or flower bed, so you never feel crowded. The site provides a summer camping field with 10A electricity if required and there are surfaced pitches especially for tents. There is also a range of self-catering accommodation available, including a large farmhouse and a bungalow; a number of privately owned holiday homes have a separate area. This family run park has matured into an attractive, comfortable, garden-like park with trees and flowering shrubs and is maintained to a high standard.
Family run parks for families with direct access to their own private beach are rare in Britain and this one has the added advantage of being in beautiful coastal countryside in West Dorset. It now offers the Jurassic Fun Centre with pools, gym, bowling and a café. This building has a living, ‘green’ roof supporting native species of salt-tolerant grass and wildflowers which helps the complex merge into the landscape and includes many eco-friendly features. The park is next to the sea and a beach of fine pebbles, sheltered from the wind by pebble banks. Approached by a fairly steep access road, the park itself is on level, open ground. The 500 touring pitches, 400 with 10A electricity, are on an open, undulating grass field connected by tarmac or hardcore roads. Caravan pitches are marked and evenly spaced in lines.
Corfe Castle Camping & Caravanning Club site lies at the foot of the Purbeck Hills, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and has proximity to the Blue Flag award-winning Studland Beach with four miles of glorious sand and bustling Swanage with its pretty beach huts. Lulworth Cove and the iconic Durdle Door on the Jurassic Coastline are a must. A leisurely 15 minute walk from the site finds you at Corfe Castle, an impressive ruin from the English Civil War whose iconic silhouette can be seen from miles around. The pretty grey stone village of Corfe Castle lies in the shadow of the romantic castle ruins. Around its square are a cluster of tearooms, trinket shops and pubs. Boat owners, please be aware there is an additional pitch fee policy. No cycling allowed on site, but bikes can be ridden along the footpath to Corfe Castle, which runs directly from the site. The site has 80 grass or hardstanding pitches, most with an electric hook-up point.
Ridge Farm is basically a level, grass field with 60 pitches (half of which have electricity). It provides a peaceful ‘back to nature’ retreat in the beautiful Purbeck countryside adjoining a farm. Large trees around the site offer some shade. With its close proximity to the River Frome, coastline and beaches, this is an ideal location for walking, cycling and particularly birdwatching with the Arne RSPB reserve next door. The neighbouring Ridge Wharf Yacht Centre provides the perfect opportunity for boat launching. Within a short drive you’ll find many interesting places to visit including Corfe Castle, Studland Bay and the Jurassic Coast. The Swanage railway goes from Corfe Castle to Swanage often with a steam engine. Bournemouth, Poole and Swanage are nearby for shopping and entertainment. Further afield is Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World and Thomas Hardy’s Cottage.
The Church family continue to make improvements to this attractive little park which is within walking distance of the village of Wool, between Dorchester and Wareham. Very natural and with open views over the Frome Valley water meadows, it provides 95 numbered pitches on flat grass sloping gently north and is orchard-like in parts. The 76 touring pitches are well spaced, mostly backing onto hedges or fences and all have 10A electrical connections. All roads are now tarmac. There are no caravan holiday homes but 19 pitches are seasonal. There may be some rail noise but this is not intrusive at night.
Conveniently situated close to the World-Famous Jurassic Coast, The Dorset Hideaway is an excellent site on a former working dairy farm. The emphasis is on luxury and tranquillity within a rural area. Each pitch has uninterrupted views over open unspoilt countryside, most with parking next to the pitch. The site has 118 grass or hardstanding pitches. most with electric hook-up and some seasonal. There are also domes, yurts & bell tents to hire.
With an impressive situation, Littlesea is one of Haven’s flagship parks with an amazing range of facilities and overlooking the lagoon and Chesil beach. A total of 800 pitches allows for a good number of privately owned mobile homes, with more still for sale and to rent, plus a splendid touring area (155 pitches) on the cliff top with sea views. Most pitches have 16A electricity. Some small simple tent pitches are perched right on the cliff top. As with other Haven Parks, there are indoor and outdoor pools, a wide range of sporting activities including a multisports court and entertainment for all the family.
The Inside Park Touring Caravan & Camping Park is set in the grounds of an 18th-century country house that burned down in 1941. Family owned and carefully managed alongside an arable farm, this is a must for those interested in local history or arboriculture and it is a haven for wildlife and birds.
A friendly, welcoming, family park, Bagwell Farm is open all year. It is situated between Weymouth and Abbotsbury, close to Chesil Beach. Set in a valley, yet with an attractive open aspect, there are 320 numbered pitches, 280 for touring units, the remainder taken up by seasonal units. All have 10A electricity connections and 34 serviced pitches with hardstanding have a 16A supply. Some of the terraced pitches have beautiful views of Chesil Bank and the sea. In addition there is a traditional camping field where a campers’ shelter is provided. An attractive bar, converted from farm buildings, serves meals.
