Campingpark im Bergischen Land is located in the Bergisches Land in a large natural area east of Cologne. This tranquil campsite offers an idyllic escape for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful and quiet holiday. The campsite is on a hillside and boasts excellent views of the surrounding landscape. It is also a perfect base for hikers and cyclists. While most of the campsite is occupied by permanent pitches, a charming section has been thoughtfully designed for touring. There are 80 spacious and level pitches with 16Amp electric hook-up points available. Most pitches have stunning views of the surrounding rolling hills. For a unique experience, consider staying in one of the cosy sleeping barrels.
Situated on a gentle, south-facing slope that leads down to the water’s edge, Vier Jahreszeiten - Camping Biggesee blends in well with its wooded surroundings. The 200 touring pitches, all with electricity, are arranged in circles at the top part of the site and on a series of wide terraces lower down. They are grassy with some hardstandings.

This delightful campsite offers spaciously arranged pitches on terraces set amongst lush greenery. All pitches are equipped with 220V/16 A electricity connection, and the long-term pitches have access to the community antenna/common aerial. You will also find a drain and service station for caravans and campervans, as well as well-grounded pitches for campervans.
Camping Hof Biggen is a well-established site in the heart of the Sauerland region, close to the city of Attendorn, just 4 km. away from the Biggesee. It is set amidst beautiful green countryside, and a large touring area at the top of the site offers a great view over woods, meadows and the Burg Schnellenberg castle. There are 350 pitches, 50 for tourers, all equipped with 16A electricity, in addition to 50 for tents on the slightly sloping ground. There are 25 caravans for hire. The site can become a suntrap in hot weather. This area of Sauerland is characterised by Lake Biggesee, where there are numerous opportunities for watersports and swimming. Nature lovers can enjoy the many walking routes through the Ebbe Mountains National Park, and days out include the medieval village of Attendorn (for shopping), the Atta Höhle Caves and the castle.
This is a well designed and attractive countryside site with lots of trees and hedges where modern buildings have been built in keeping with the traditional, half-timbered style of the region. There are 500 grass touring pitches arranged on large, open areas divided by tall hedges. A further 500 house seasonal, rental and privately owned statics. Trees provide good shade and all pitches have electricity connections. Access from the A30 autobahn is convenient, although this is offset by the fact that some noise from the autobahn is evident in the touring pitch area. Facilities on this site are really good, from the modern pool complex, to the half-timbered bar/restaurant with its wooden beams and adjoining beer garden.
Grav-Insel claims to be the largest family camping site in Germany, providing entertainment and activities to match, with over 2,000 permanent units. A section for 500 touring units runs beside the water to the left of the entrance and this area has been completely renewed. These pitches, all with 10A electricity, are flat, grassy, mostly without shade and of about 100 sq.m. A walk through the site takes you past a nature reserve and to the Rhine, where you can watch the barges. Despite its size, this site is very well maintained, calm, clean and spacious and this is down to the family who started it 40 years ago.
As the name suggests, the KNAUS Campingpark Essen-Werden is located in the ninth largest city in Germany, "Essen". This makes it a perfect starting point to explore Essen and the Ruhr area. There is quite a lot of aircraft noise due to the proximity of the airport but an ideal place to stay to explore the city. A restaurant can be found at the campsite where guests can try regional cuisine. You will also find a children's play area and table tennis on site. Near the camping park, you have access to the S-Bahn, which takes you quickly and practically to the city centre or even to Bottrop, Bochum or Oberhausen.Numerous museums and monuments allow you to get to know the unique history and culture of the city. Musicals and events guarantee entertainment and fun! The Baldeneysee is only a few kilometres away from the campsite and is a popular recreation area on the outskirts of the city of Essen.
Haddorfer Seen is leased to the owner, Achin Hagel, by the town of Wettringen. English is spoken by everyone at reception and you are made welcome from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave this idyllic site surrounded by moorland and lakes. The site has 170 touring pitches and 400 permanent pitches. There are also four safari tents and six cyclists’ huts to rent. The touring site has its own entrance away from the permanent units. All pitches have 16A electricity (Europlug) and the premium pitches have water and grey waste. It is attractively laid out and immaculately clean. The site roads are brick paved and access is easy. Motorhomes and caravans are welcomed but the site cannot accept large American-style RVs.
Tucked away in a quiet wooded valley beside a stream, this small family run site, just to the south of Monschau in the North Eifel, is easily accessible and an ideal touring base. The site has 75 grass touring pitches with 16A electricity connections and is divided into two parts by the stream. The upper part is terraced in places, with the remaining pitches bordering the stream. The lower part, an open meadow used mainly for tents, is reached by crossing a low wooden bridge. The town of Monschau, with almost 250 houses from the Middle Ages under a protection order, is understandably one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region.
Erholungspark Wehlingsheide is a site in Datteln, North Rhine-Westphalia, some 30 km north of Dortmund. Datteln is about 7 km away and offers the usual range of handy shops, restaurants and amenities. Set amidst rural fields and open countryside, it's a great location for those who enjoy pedalling along country lanes and hiking along the scenic trails, and there's even a sauna and beauty centre on site to help you relax afterwards.
Under Dutch ownership, this site has about 110 touring pitches, all with 16A electricity. Just outside the main gate, there are nine fully serviced hardstanding pitches with charcoal grill, designed with motorhomes in mind. Although the site is sloping, the pitches are 110-250 sq.m. on mainly level grassy areas with some shade.
Camping Berger has been a family site since 1931. It is located on the banks of the River Rhine in a quiet suburb of Cologne, only 7 km. from the city centre, which is easily reached on public transport or by the cycle path. Of the 250 pitches, 125 are reserved for touring units, all have 10A Europlug and are level on grass with tree shade in places. This is a friendly site with a comfortable restaurant, bar and beer garden, which together with the grassed and sandy areas bordering the Rhine, make it an ideal site to return to after a busy day visiting the city and other attractions in the area.
This is a first-class site on the outskirts of Münster. Of a total of 570 pitches, 120 are for touring units, each with electricity, water, drainage, and TV sockets. The pitches are level, most with partial hardstanding, and others are separated into groups by mature hedges and trees providing shade.
Situated in the countryside, on a large, level, grassed area that stretches along the banks of the River, Rheincamping Meerbusch has 300 pitches, (200 for touring) all with 6A electricity. It is well located for visiting nearby Düsseldorf, and Cologne further south.
Campingpark Extertal is a well maintained site located in the Weser mountains, 20 km. west of Hameln. Many pitches here have permanent caravans but around 40 terraced pitches are reserved for tourers. All pitches have 16A electricity, water, drainage and cable TV connections. Pitches are generally grassy and of a good size. On-site amenities include a bar/snack bar, TV/games room and small shop (fresh bread available daily). There is also a small fishing lake. A range of shops and restaurants are available in the village of Extertal, to the north.
Camping Schafbachmühle is located in the "Eifel National Park". Hiking trails start straight from the site and take walkers and hikers into the fascinating Eifel landscapes. Even in the cold season, the surroundings around the Schafbachmühle are worth seeing as snow and ice conjure up a beautiful panorama of the valley. At the same time, nearby ski trails and a ski lift 8 km away invite you to take part in winter sports. The adjacent stream offers countless water play ideas particularly for the younger members of the family. The touring pitches are not fenced or hedged. There are pitches near the stream and pond, as well as sunny or shady places under trees. The large meadow, next to the duck pond, is perfect for those who bring their own tent. The site has 210 pitches, of which 30 are grass touring pitches and there are also 6 hiking huts and forest igloos available to hire.
