Camping Vigna Maggiore
Set on 15 acres and shaded by olive, pine and eucalyptus trees, the pitches at Olmeto’s Camping Vigna Maggiore in southern Corsica are simple enough in style. But everything else at this fantastic campsite is about effortless luxury and spectacular views – in fact, there’s pretty much everything you could want when escaping reality for a few days. This campsite features 120 touring pitches between 70-180 m2 and are located on terraces.
Camping Campo di Liccia
A small, pleasant family site, Campo di Liccia has a good ambience. It is fresh and clean and the owners have spent much time and money achieving high standards. We found this site to be a breath of fresh air compared to many other small sites on the island. The 150 flat touring pitches are informally arranged under mature trees with 4/10A electricity in different designated areas of site. A swimming and paddling pool near reception is pleasant (but no lifeguard). The pool is overlooked by the terraced patios of the restaurant and bar which are built around a lovely old tree which grows up through the roof.
Bagheera Camping
This naturist site is situated alongside a 3 km. beach of fine sand and has been owned by the same family for 40 years. There are 250 informal pitches on grass and sand which are well shaded under a variety of trees. All have 10A electricity. Some beach-side pitches have sea views, but all are within 200 m. of the sea. The pleasant main restaurant/bar and the beach restaurant/bar have superb panoramic views of the sea and offer extensive menus with especially good seafood, served by enthusiastic staff. A very relaxing site.
Camping TIKITI
Camping Tikiti is located at the entrance of the coastal town of Propriano, on the southwest coast of Corsica, France. The campsite is just a five-minute walk from the beach and is conveniently situated near the town centre. This allows you to enjoy the beauty of the Corsican coast and explore the shops and restaurants of Propriano easily. The campsite is large with 150 touring pitches with 6Amp electric hook-up points to choose from and extends over a hill that overlooks Baracci beach and the Gulf of Valinco. Due to the size of the campsite, it is particularly suitable for accommodating larger motorhomes and you can choose  the location of where you would like to stay on site.
Camping Torraccia
On Corsica's west coast, Torraccia is a small, peaceful site set back from the sea but within easy reach of two sandy beaches (5 minutes drive). There are wonderful panoramic views down to Chiuni beach and the neighbouring valley, as well as the soaring mountain peaks of the interior. This is a pleasantly relaxed place to retreat after a day at the beach or an excursion up the hills. The site caters for around 70 touring pitches, most on grass and with decent shade, and also offers accommodation to rent in the form of bungalows and camping pods.
Camping le Sagone
Part of the Campéole group, Camping le Sagone is situated outside the bustling seaside resort of Sagone, surrounded by protective hills. This campsite, which used to be a fruit farm, is in an ideal location for exploring Corsica’s wild and rocky west coast or its mountainous interior. The large site borders a pleasant river and has 230 shaded pitches, with 6A electricity and water. The restaurant/bar and new snack bar overlook the modern pool and they are the focal point of this well managed site. The site provides an amazing array of sports and specialises in sports activities for groups in the low season.
Domaine Naturiste de Riva Bella
This is a relaxed, informal, spacious site alongside an extraordinarily long and beautiful beach. Riva Bella is open all year and is exclusively naturist from 1st April to 5th November only. The site is divided into several areas with 199 pitches (with 6A electricity), some of which are alongside the sandy beach with little shade. Others are in a shady, wooded glade on the hillside.
Camping Olva-Les Eucalyptus
Camping Olva-Les Eucalyptus is a family-friendly campsite located on a beautiful 7-hectare park shaded by various trees. The campsite is situated in Sartène, a town in southern Corsica. The campsite is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area, including the beaches of Roccapina and Campomoro, the prehistoric site of Filitosa, and the city of Bonifacio. On-site, you will find 60 touring pitches with electric hook-up points available. All pitches are well shaded ideal for respite from the summer sun.
Camping les Ilots d’Or
Camping Les Ilots d’Or is a friendly and well-established campsite, situated 5 minutes from the town centre of Porto Vecchio and just 150 metres from the beautiful beach of Saint Cyprien. A total of 154 large shady pitches nestled across the four hectares of oak trees and eucalyptus with a great view of the sea. All pitches supply 6amp Electricity. This is a quiet campsite with clean sanitary facilities and very accommodating staff.
Camping U Sommalu
Camping U Sommalu is between the west coast of Corsica and the mountains to the north and east. This is a family-friendly site a kilometre from a sandy beach in the mountainside village of Casaglione. A 45-minute drive from Ajaccio it is well situated for a seaside escape in the Gulf of Sagone, with the hinterlands, including waterfalls, mountains and rivers, within reach too. On site you will find a swimming pool with sun loungers for a lazy afternoon and when energy levels are running high, there is an outdoor playground, table football and table tennis. With a picnic and your swimming gear it's an easy 20-minute walk to Le Liamone beach if you fancy a sandy lounge around (or a splendid sunset, if it’s late enough in the day). Handily, there’s a restaurant overlooking the beach and the river too. If you are not staying around for sunset, return to the site and grab a drink from the on-site bar. Conveniently, there is a food shop and bakery on site for any bits you need, plus several shops, restaurants and bars 15 minutes’ walk away. The site has 80 touring pitches and a number of mobile homes, chalets and bungalows to hire.
Marina d’Aleria Camping
With direct beach access and many pitches located along the dusky sand beach and looking out to sea, Marina de Aleria retains its natural setting on the tree lined foreshore. This site is about the sand, sea and sun. Pitches vary in size, most are shaded and fairly level. Long power leads are essential. Entertainment is provided in the hub of the site where the shops, bar restaurant and takeaway food can be found. The entertainment was fun and the children and adults all appeared to be enjoying themselves, the setting was delightful with the sea and the sound of water in the background. There are plans for a swimming pool to be added.
Camping Domaine d’Anghione
Domaine d’Anghione is a sprawling and site which is being steadily upgraded. It is solely for bungalows and mobile homes which occupy a good deal of space here. The traditional pool and paddling pool are very welcome in the summer heat. A huge equestrian centre is on site and horses may be hired. The beachside self-service restaurant has excellent sea views as does the adjacent bar. The site has direct access to a wonderful long beach, which is of fine sand and shelves gently into the blue waters. Entertainment is provided in high season for both adults and children.
Camping U Prunelli
Camping Prunelli is a friendly and a well-maintained site. Located 10 minutes from the town of Ajaccio along the river, on the South Shore of the Gulf of Ajaccio. It is 2 km from the fine sandy beaches of Porticcio, in lush vegetation. The site offers 200 shady touring pitches all flat and on level ground, situated in a large variety of areas with water and electricity. Some noise from the road behind the campsite can be heard.
Campéole L’Avena
Part of the Campéole group, l’Avena is primarily a beach site which sits in an attractive valley. The beach is within ten minutes walk away along a sandy track. There are 194 flat pitches with 69 for tourers, all with 16A electricity. Some are closely placed, and there are differing levels of shade from young trees. There are also chalets and bungalows for rent. The small snack bar, bar and shop provide an adequate service but remember the closest village is 15 km. away for extra supplies. A little play area is supplemented with a bouncy castle. Visitors are left to their own devices here. There are many Bangali-style tents here, but the touring area is kept separate and is closest to the track for beach access. Other than the beach, there is little to do here for young families, although a limited amount of entertainment is provided in high season. Nevertheless, the peaceful nature of the site will suit some campers, especially those seeking keen prices.
Camping U Casone
Camping U Casone is an all-year-round campsite on Corsica's east coast, within the Costa Serena region. Water enthusiasts will be in their element here, with a swimming pool on-site and a river, lake, and beach all nearby. The Mediterranean Sea beach is a leisurely ten-minute stroll away. The campsite accommodates 120 pitches, including 72 for touring units equipped with 6/16-amp hook-up points. Alternatively, there are 48 mobile homes to rent. The spacious pitches have tall trees providing shade in some areas. However, most pitches are bathed in sunshine.
Camping les Oliviers
This attractive and modern, resort style campsite is by the Bay of Porto, set alongside a charming river suitable for fishing and swimming. It is located on the difficult to access and remote west coast of Corsica and reservations are essential. The site is on very steep slopes and has 190 pitches (120 with 10A electricity). The mainly small and terraced pitches reflect the rugged terrain, are unsuitable for motorhomes and extremely challenging for larger units. A new ‘Bohemian’ area offers Romany-style caravans to rent in a tranquil setting. The site is not suitable for those with reduced mobility and dogs are not accepted.
Camping Les Castors
Camping Les Castors is located 800 metres from the fortified citadel of Calvi and is less than a 15-minute walk to Calvi's, the town centre and the beach.
Camping Arinella Bianca
Arinella is a smart, lively, site with a strong family orientation, on Corsica’s east coast. There are 137 good sized touring pitches with 10A electricity available (Europlug). Level and grassy, they are amply shaded by a variety of trees and shrubs. Some pitches overlook attractive lakes which have fountains and are lit at night. The site has direct access to a huge long beach of soft sand. The brilliantly designed resort-style pool complex with two pools and a paddling pool, is overlooked by a large restaurant, terraced bar and very professional entertainment area, forming the hub of Arinella Bianca. The very active and well organised children’s club is impressive. Watch for some unmarked drops in level at one toilet block and near the restaurant. We feel that this site is not suitable for those with reduced mobility.
Camping Paradella
The owner of Camping Paradella is keen that you enjoy this out-of-town site with its natural surroundings. It is a back to nature site with 130 touring pitches, all with access to 3A electricity. Access is good, even for large units and the pitches are neat, shaded and level. One central tarmac road serves the pitches and the sanitary block is centrally placed. The site is very peaceful, other than a little road noise on one side. Many languages are spoken including English. The swimming pool near the entrance is clean, with sun loungers and a solarium area. There are some simple games for children, but ask about walks in the area and about the vines which are next to the site.

Corsica

The island of Corsica is both dramatic and beautiful. The scenery is spectacular, with bays of white sand lapped by the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean. At certain times of the year, the entire island is ablaze with exotic flowers, aided by Corsica’s excellent sunshine record.

Calanques de Piana

For an island of relatively small size, Corsica offers a remarkable amount: sunkissed beaches, spectacular mountains, historical monuments, quiet hillside villages and busy port towns. It is on this island that Napoléon Bonaparte was born and spent a significant part of his early career; the town of Ajaccio has a museum and several statues dedicated to him. Alongside these are typically Mediterranean buildings, trendy cafés and bars, and a generous sprinkling of palm trees.

Corsica is regarded by some as the jewel of the Mediterranean islands and is made up of two départements: Haute Corse (Upper Corsica) and Corse du Sud (Southern Corsica). The island has endured a bloody history, having been much disputed by the Greeks, Romans and Lombards. Five hundred years of Italian rule have influenced the look of the island with Italian-style hilltop hamlets and villages developed alongside mountain springs. Many of the villages feature rustic, unadorned churches and also a few Romanesque examples.

The variety of scenery is spectacular. Across much of this stunning island, one can discover dramatic gorges, glacial lakes, gushing mountain torrents and magnificent pine and chestnut forests. You’ll also experience the celebrated perfume of the Corsican maquis: a tangled undergrowth of fragrant herbs, flowers and bushes that fills the warm spring and summer air.

Scenery as dramatic as that of the Calanches of Piana is rarely found in Europe. Said to have been carved by the devil, these giant, red cliffs and rock formations are Homeric in nature, plummeting down into the sparkling sea. Corsica is no stranger to rocky precipices – the citadel of Corte, perched on a ragged promontory, is the western gateway to its mountainous heart, which is home to various species of protected wildlife. To the south can be found prehistoric monuments and exquisite beaches, while the east has forested hills sheltering hidden villages, a paradise for walkers who can choose from the many paths that crisscross the island or tackle the famous GR20.
