One hour from Paris, on the banks of the Seine and overlooked by the impressive remains of Château Gaillard (Richard Coeur de Lion), this attractive and very spacious ten-hectare site will appeal to couples and young families. There is easy access to the 115 level, grassy touring pitches in a well landscaped setting, all with electricity (6A), although some long leads may be required. Many pitches back onto the River Seine where you can watch the barges, and most have views of the château. Of the 80 mobile homes, there are seven to rent, leaving lots of space to enjoy the surroundings, including the large lake full of perch and bream for those eager fishermen. Others can try their luck in the Seine.
A nearby station will whisk you to Paris for the day, while a short drive will bring the delights of Monet’s house and garden. A Medieval Festival is held in Les Andelys in the last weekend of June. Walk along the banks of the Seine and watch the huge passenger boats cruising there, or stroll into the main town for shopping and restaurants.
