Camping Residence Punta Spin
Punta Spin is a large, well-maintained site set between the road and a soft sand beach. About 300 flat touring pitches vary in size (65-100 sq.m), all with 6A electricity and with some on the beachfront (book early for these). A bicycle is an asset here to access the furthest sanitary blocks. The comprehensive amenities are clustered near the entrance and include three pools, one of which is a sophisticated paddling complex, and another is covered and heated. The restaurant and bar terraces overlook the illuminated pools, making a great setting for dinner.
Camping Village Belvedere Pineta
Belvedere Pineta is situated on the edge of an almost entirely land-locked lagoon, 5 km. from Grado on the northern Adriatic Sea. A minor road runs between the site and the lagoon and a bridge over this connects the site with the beach of fine sand. It is a large site with 900 touring pitches arranged in regular rows with most under shade provided by the many tall pine trees which cover the site. Most are of reasonable size and all have electricity. An area of accommodation to let is to one side of the camping area. In high season a large programme of sport and entertainment for children and adults is organised. With two pools, an area for ball games, tennis courts, minigolf and the beach there are plenty of activities to enjoy. In nearby Aquileia, once the fourth city of the Roman Empire, is one of the world’s most magnificent mosaic floors. Excursions can be made by rail to Venice and other places in the region.
Camping Mare Pineta
Camping Village Mare is 18 km. Northwest of Trieste, at the top of an 80-metre cliff, has superb views over the Sistiana Bay. The campsite is situated in a peaceful spot amongst trees that line the coastline and offers stunning views of the Adriatic Sea. Of the 500 pitches, 340 are reserved for touring units, all with 4/6A electricity and water nearby. Some are in light woodland. Everyone is friendly, and English is spoken.
Camping Sabbiadoro
Sabbiadoro is a large, top quality site that caters very well for children. It is divided into two parts with separate entrances and efficient receptions. It has 974 touring pitches and is ideal for families who like all their amenities to be close by. The level, grassy pitches vary in size, are shaded by attractive trees and have electricity (6-10A) and TV connections. The facilities are all in excellent condition and well thought out, especially the pool complex, and everything here is very modern, safe and clean. The site’s private beach (with 24-hour guard) is only 250 m. away and has its own showers, toilets and baby rooms.
Camping Pino Mare
This well equipped site with 314 pitches (all with 6A electricity) has direct access to a 70 metre wide, 1 km. long private sandy beach that leads down to the gently shelving waters of the Adriatic. On the beach, from where the Croatian coast is visible some 35 km. away, each of the level, mostly shaded pitches has its own numbered sun umbrella. This is a good family site with safe sea swimming (with lifeguards) and an attractive large pool complex, as well as an entertainment programme in summer. At three beach entry points there are rooftop snack bars with toilets at ground level and walkways leading down to the water’s edge.
Camping Al Bosco
Camping Al Bosco is a small, attractive site set beneath pine trees about 2 km. from Grado´s old town, which can be reached by a cycle track. It has its own private beach, very popular with kite surfers, where there is a paddling pool, an open-air whirlpool and a small children’s playground. A pretty restaurant overlooks the beach and a small shop has all the necessary provisions. Wooden fences and hedges separate the 242 pitches. All have 3A electricity, they are numbered, level, shaded and reached by tarmac roads. Plants and flowers are found in abundance, enhancing the feeling of being on the Adriatic.
Camping Aquileia
Situated in former parkland, under mature trees providing plenty of welcome shade in summer, Camping Aquileia, with 115 level, grass touring pitches, is a quiet site 10 km. away from the bustling coastal beaches. The pitches, all with 4/6A electricity, are separated from the entrance, swimming pool and play areas by tall hedges, and the more peaceful part of the site with the newer sanitary block is at the rear of the site. The now small town of Aquileia, founded in 181 BC, became one of the most important Roman military and trading posts and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the basilica, only a short walk from the campsite along the former harbour, lays one of the world’s most magnificent mosaic floors.
Camping Tenuta Primero Resort
Tenuta Primero is a large, attractive, well run, family owned site with direct access to its own private beach, marina and golf course. It offers a wealth of facilities and activities and caters for all members of the family. All of the pitches are all level, with 6A electricity, some separating hedges and ample tree shade. There are also mobile homes for rent. The site has several restaurants and bars, and the large, elevated, flower decked Terrazza Mare, overlooking the sea, is great for eating and drinking whilst enjoying views over the romantic Adriatic.
Villaggio Turistico Europa
This large, flat, high-quality site is beside the sea and has 500 pitches, with about 400 for touring units. They are all neat, clean and marked, most with shade and 6/10A electricity and 300 are fully serviced. The terrain is undulating and sandy in the areas nearer the sea, where cars have to be left in parking places. A huge, impressive aquatic park covers 1,500 sq.m. with two long slides, a whirlpool and many other features, including a pool bar. This is a very pleasant site with a spacious feel which families will enjoy.

Friuli - Venézia Giúlia

Friuli-Venézia Giulia is a beautiful border region nudging Slovenia on the East, Austria and the Carnic Alps to the North with the Adriatic to the south - forming a bridge between the Mediterranean world and central Europe. Near the Slovenian border lies the atmospheric city of Trieste, with its long bustling harbour. The prime tourist site is the hill of San Giusto; at the summit is the castle and a walk along the ramparts offers sweeping views over the Gulf of Trieste.

Trieste

Near the Slovenian border lies the atmospheric city of Trieste, with its long bustling harbour. The prime tourist site is the hill of San Giusto; at the summit is the castle and a walk along the ramparts offers sweeping views over the Gulf of Trieste. Across the bay, Múggia is only a short ferry ride from Trieste, whilst outside the city is an area of limestone uplands, known as the Carso. With an abundance of caves, including the Grotta Gigante, the world’s largest accessible cave and second largest natural chamber in the world, the Carso can be easily reached by the tranvia (cable tramway).

Sitting on a group of low islands in the middle of the Adriatic lagoon, Grado is attached to the mainland by a long, narrow causeway. A popular seaside resort, it has a long sandy beach and harbour plus a historic centre. A short distance from here is Aquileia, now a small town but once an important city of the Roman Empire and further inland Udine boasts galleries, fine churches, and well preserved historic buildings. Towards the Austrian border in the north, is Carnia. With its lush valleys and flower-filled meadows, which give way to Alpine peaks, it is an area popular with walkers.

The region consists of four provinces: Gorizia, Pordenone, Trieste and Udine.
