Brecon Beacons Caravan and Motorhome Club site is in a picturesque setting with with a few pitches having super views towards the Brecon Beacons. Originally farmland near the Brecon bypass, there are now three level, hedged and neatly mown areas with tarmac roads bounded by a mixture of hardwood trees and shrubs. These fields provide for 149 touring units of all types with hardstanding on 106 pitches with electricity points (10/16 amp) and 54 multi-serviced pitches with gravel hardstandings, and also 10 tent pitches. In a sloping field leading down to a stream is an extensive dog walk on one side of the Brynich Brook, on the other bank is an adventure play area. The stream is shallow and an added attraction along with the play equipment plus there is a large recreation field for ball games. The site also provides a caravan/motorhome storage compound.
Renovated from a former railway station, Aberbran Caravan and Motorhome Club site is just the thing if you are looking for a hidden gem, no nonsense, simple and relaxing holiday. The site provides facilities for those with a passion for walking and bird watching as the site is ideally located within the Brecon Beacons and its famous National Park. The Park has its own Mountain Centre, where visitors collect information, leaflets and walks. An exhibition and a small cafe is on hand that includes an outside terrace with stunning views to admire. The site has just 22 mainly grass pitches all with 16 amp electricity.
Glanusk Caravan Park is in a secluded part of the Glanusk estate and is perfectly private. Relax on all-weather pitches with the option of electricity in an area that's surrounded by nature. The site reaches out towards the river's banks, where the peaceful waters are ideal for salmon and trout fishing.
Wyeside Camping & Caravanning Club site is situated just outside the market town of Rhayader in Powys, the green heart of Wales, surrounded by the beautiful ‘Lakeland of Wales’. Located on the banks of the River Wye, the site is ideal for spending long afternoons enjoying walking, cycling, horse riding and fishing. Due to the site being within the International Dark Sky Park, there are none of the usual lighting schemes so a torch is considered an essential. The site has 60 grass or hardstanding pitches, some of which are serviced, most with electric hook-up. The site also has a holiday home for hire.
Fforest Fields Caravan & Camping Park is a secluded park is set on a family hill farm within seven acres in the heart of Radnorshire. This is simple country camping and caravanning at its best, with no clubhouse, swimming pool or games room. The facilities include 80 large pitches on level grass on a spacious and peaceful, carefully landscaped field by a stream. Electrical connections (6-16A) are available and there are 17 hardstanding pitches, also with electricity. Several additional areas without electricity are provided for tents. There are two new lakes, one for boating and fly fishing, the other for coarse fishing.
Red Kite Touring Park is an exclusively for adults site situated one mile from the historic market town of Llanidloes. It has a large amenity area with nature ponds, a coarse fishing pool, walking routes and dog walks. The site is on a gently sloping, south-facing side of the Clywedog Valley, easily accessible directly off the B4518 with a large tarmac entrance.
Disserth Caravan and Camping Park is tucked away under the watchful eye of St Cewydd's on the one side and bordered by the babbling river Ithon. This compact sheltered level park has been accommodating travellers for centuries, once it was an overnight stop for drovers heading for the Midlands and now today it is an idyllic location for your caravan, motorhome or tent for a relaxing rest from the hustle and bustle of modern living or a base from which to explore the natural beauty of the Heart of Wales.
Morben Isaf provides 26 touring pitches with multi-services, all with 16A electricity, water tap, wastewater drain and a satellite TV hook-up. There is further grassy space below the touring pitches, beyond the fishing lake, which is normally used as a playing field and football pitch but can accommodate around ten tents which do not need any services. On a lower level, behind the site manager’s bungalow, and barely visible from the touring site, are 87 privately owned caravan holiday homes. There is a play area suitable for children up to ten years old. Also on the site is an unfenced coarse fishing lake, which campers are free to use, a bird hide and a dog walk.
Lakeside Caravan & Camping Park is situated adjacent to Llangorse Lake in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains. Surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons, the site offers many opportunities for those interested in outdoor activities. Llangorse Lake is the largest natural lake in South Wales and is renowned for its Pike Fishing. Canoes, stand up paddle boards, rowing boats and pedaloes can all be hired from the site. Llangorse village offers pony trekking, an indoor climbing centre and two local pubs and there is a huge choice of footpaths and bike trails within the Brecon Beacons National Park. The site has 82 grass or hardstanding touring pitches. The site also has mobile homes available to hire.
Anchorage Caravan Park is a high standard family run site, centrally situated for touring much of Mid and South Wales, especially the Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains. The South facing sunny site has magnificent views of the North Scarp of the nearby Black Mountains which belying their name are grass, bracken and heather covered, and change colour with the light and weather conditions constantly. We are within easy reach of the beautiful countryside from majestic mountains to waterfalls, castles, and historic monuments.
Talybont Farm site is situated on a working farm in a beautiful setting on the edge of a picturesque village, six miles from Brecon in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. The village has a shop/post office/off licence, four pubs with good food, all within a five-minute walk and close to the canal.
Riverbend Caravan Park is found on the banks of the River Banwy, a short distance from the popular town of Welshpool in the rural heart of Wales. The park is within a charming valley and offers brilliant views of the surrounding countryside and rugged hills, with the Cambrian Mountains nearby. On-site, 50 touring pitches with drainage, water and electric hook-up points are available at each pitch. Some are hard standing and are located right on the river.
Cringoed is a pleasant, peaceful, small park with a river to one side, hills on the other and trees at either end. There are 30 spacious pitches available for touring and these are in a level open field, each with hardstanding and 16A electricity. About 36 caravan holiday homes are placed at either end of the site, some amongst trees and some in a newer, more open area. There are also ten tent pitches, some with electricity. This is a relaxing base where you can sit and listen to the river and watch the wildlife, but it is also within easy reach of some of mid-Wales’ best scenery and not far from the coast.
Dolswydd is on the edge of a pretty, traditional working farm. A tranquil site with excellent views of the Welsh hills and surrounding area, it has modern facilities and 30 good spacious pitches, mainly on hardstandings, all with 16A electricity connections. The Hughes family extends a warm and friendly welcome to their little park surrounded by hills and wandering sheep, which is ideal as a touring base or for a one night stop, but booking is recommended, especially at peak times, Bank Holidays and during the Victorian Festival (last week in August).
For adults only, this pretty, tranquil park in the Camlad Valley has panoramic views and is an ideal base for walkers. Attractively landscaped with traditional English flower beds and many different trees and shrubs, this small park has been carefully developed. The Welsh hills to the north and the Shropshire hills to the south overlook the three fields which provide a total of 84 pitches. The field nearer to the road (perhaps a little noisy) is slightly sloping, but there are hardstandings for motorhomes, while the second field is more level. All pitches have 16A electricity, water and wastewater drainage and TV hook-up. Camping pods are also available for hire.
Smithy Park is set in four acres of landscaped grounds bordered by the River Severn and the Shropshire Union Canal in the tranquil rolling countryside of central Wales. It has 60 privately owned caravan holiday homes, but beyond these is a separate touring area with the benefit of being closest to the river with the best views and a small picnic and seating area on the bank. This area has 26 fully serviced hardstanding pitches (16A electricity, water, wastewater and satellite TV hook-ups). A timber chalet provides all the sanitary facilities and is located in one corner of the touring area.
Llwyn Celyn is a truly peaceful site with superb views of the Welsh hills and Montgomery countryside. Although predominantly a holiday home park, the upper field has been levelled and drained to provide 16 touring pitches, all with electrical connections. It is a real country retreat, ideal for quiet walks or cycle rides, yet only ten miles from Newtown. There has recently (2015) been a change of ownership.
Black Mountain View is just 1½ miles from the popular border town of Hay-on-Wye. The site is situated in the beautiful Wye Valley on the Powys/ Herefordshire border. From here, you can take the short walk to The Offa’s Dyke Path, fish on the River Wye or simply take in the breathtaking views of the Black Mountains. The area is an excellent destination for walking the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park.
This high quality park is on the edge of Pencelli village. Set in the grounds of an old castle amidst the Brecon scenery, the park has both atmosphere and character. It offers excellent facilities in peaceful, rural tranquillity. The owners, Liz and Gerwyn Rees, have retained the country charm but have added an all-embracing range of spacious, heated, luxury facilities, attractively enhanced by potted plants etc. There are three touring fields housing 80 pitches, half with electricity (16A). The Orchard has some fully serviced pitches with hardstanding, amongst shrubs, fruit trees and a stone cider mill. The Oaks taking a mix of motorhomes, caravans and tents, and the Meadow for tents only (with boot and bike wash) are bordered by majestic trees and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.
Mid Wales
This is an area of green hills, river valleys and mountains dotted with plenty of traditional market towns and ancient walkways. The scenery here is something special - rolling countryside from the Brecon Beacons National Park in the south to the wild beauty of the Berwyn Mountains in the north.
