Callander Woods Holiday Park is situated within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, just a mile from the centre of Callander. Surrounded by mature trees, this attractive, family run park is peaceful and spacious. All is kept in a pristine condition and a very warm welcome awaits on arrival with a superb information pack given to all. The 128 all grass touring pitches are reasonably level, open plan and marked, with 16A electricity, water and drain. Tents and pup tents are not accepted, groundsheets are not permitted. Privately owned caravan holiday homes are located away from the touring section near the river which runs for 200 yards along the park boundary.
North Ledaig Caravan Park is one of the best locations on Scotland's west coast. A wonderful 30 acre park that has been awarded the David Bellamy Conservation Award, it is situated on a 2 mile sand and shingle beach on Ardmucknish Bay. Here sailing, water sports and bathing can be enjoyed by all the family. Some pitches at the site are almost on the water's edge, and all of them face the sea, offering a panoramic view to the beautiful Isle of Mull. The location is ideal for children with an adventure playground on site. Keep an eye out for the bin raiding otters! The site has 120 hardstanding pitches (some seasonal) all with 16 amp electricity. The site is a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club Affiliated Site Scheme.
The 1,200-acre Strathclyde Country Park is a large green area less than 15 miles from the centre of Glasgow. This Caravan and Motorhome Club site features 107 all-weather, large, flat hardstanding pitches (some seasonal) all with 16 amp electricity. There are 12 serviced pitches. Space for 45 tents (seasonal), all off tarmac roads. The warden’s accommodation and toilet blocks are attractively clad in wood to blend in with their surroundings. This site is suitable as a stopover or for a longer holiday (max. 21 days) and it is ideal as a base for visiting the numerous attractions in and around Glasgow. As the site is close to the motorway, there may be some traffic noise. No arrivals before 1.00pm.
A series of improvements over the last few years has made this one of the top parks in Scotland. Almost, but not quite, on the banks of Loch Lomond, this landscaped, well planned park is suitable for both transit or longer stays. There are 110 touring units on well spaced, numbered pitches on flat or gently sloping grass. All have hardstanding and 10A electrical connections and 27 have water and waste water too. Watersports activities and boat trips are possible on Loch Lomond, with a visitor attraction, Lomond Shores, nearby.
Balbirnie Park Caravan and Motorhome Club site offers a variety of walks, some of which are suitable for cycling, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The site is great for dog owners, with plenty of open space and woodland, and is a great holiday location for everyone in the family. There are 82 grass and hardstanding pitches with 16 amp electricity, grouped in open areas and surrounded by statuesque mature trees or others located in charming shady glades. 3 tent pitches without electricity. Some pitches are seasonal. The nearby village of Markinch is only steps away and offers grocery shops, a post office, restaurants, bars and cafes, most of which offer free Wi-Fi and are dog friendly.
The Woods Caravan Park's main advantage is its location. Take time out to explore Fishcross, Alloa. It really is the perfect base, where the Lowlands end and the Highlands begin. Nearby is Dollar Glen and its National Trust woodland - a classic setting for a relaxing afternoon stroll on the easy to follow tracks. A wander up to the Castle Campbell is a must! If you fancy something livelier, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth are easily accessible. The Trossachs and Loch Lomond are also within easy reach from the site.
Carradale Bay Caravan site is situated on one of the best beaches on the Kintyre Peninsular. The superb panoramic views over the sea and surrounding countryside that are sure to take your breath away. The Isle of Arran offers a glorious backdrop in one direction and wooded hills are to be seen on the other, ensuring that no matter where you look you will experience a visual feast. This is also an ideal location for island hopping from your Kintyre base as the entire area is a haven for wildlife and a birdwatchers' paradise. The site is a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club Affiliated Site Scheme, but non-members are also very welcome
Situated as it is, on the northern outskirts and within easy reach of the city of Edinburgh, this large, busy Caravan and Motorhome Club site provides an ideal base for touring. The site is only a stone’s throw away from the waterfront where visitors can walk along the promenade of Cramond and, only a short drive away, visitors can enjoy the popular coastal suburb of Portobello with its pubs, restaurants and shops. The nearest hotel/restaurant is under a mile away, and the Firth of Forth bridge about two miles.
Located within easy reach from Yellowcraig Caravan and Motorhome Club site, the promontory harbour affords exceptional views of the Bass Rock and other islands. Nearby East Lothian combines convenient access to 'Auld Reekie' with its many charming villages of pantiled cottages. The site also provides access to the John Muir Way, a coast to coast long distance walking path that stretches right across Scotland.
Forfar Lochside Caravan and Motorhome Club Site offers access to the attractive Angus Glens. It has a picturesque parkland location on the shores of the loch within Forfar Loch Country Park. The beautiful country park is ideal for dog walking, cycling or a quiet stroll through the trees with fantastic views - for keen walkers it is possible to walk round the entire loch! This award-winning site is also situated within a few minutes' walk of the bustling centre of Forfar, the county town of Angus.
The Clachan Caravan and Motorhome Club site is a find with its several open pitching areas tucked quietly away in woodland ablaze with wildflowers and an amazing range of bird and wildlife. Based here, you can experience the best of this fabulous countryside on foot or by car as you are in the glens, mountains and lochs of the Central Highlands - country to dream about. The 42 pitches are mainly hardstanding with just 11 grass. All have 16 amp electricity. Some seasonal pitches.
Maragowan Caravan and Motorhome Club Site is a picturesque family holiday location nestled on the bank of the River Lochay in Scotland. It is within comfortable walking distance of the quaint little holiday town of Killin where you can idle the time away in the various shops and restaurants. The site puts you within easy reach of a wealth of fun outdoor activities. 99 mainly hardstanding pitches all with 16 amp electricity. Some seasonal pitches. There is a 9-hole golf course and trout fishing is permitted in the river (free) without a permit. Cycling routes are in close proximity and mountain bikes can be hired in the village of Killin. Kayaking, hill walking and mountaineering can all be undertaken from the site. No arrivals before 1.00pm.
Located in the John Muir Country Park, Belhaven Bay Caravan Park is just one mile from the historic town of Dunbar, where the ancient castle ruin stands guard over the town’s twin harbours. This is an excellent family park with easy access to the beach and to the clifftop trail which has spectacular views capturing the beauty of the countryside and seascapes. The park’s 66 caravan holiday homes (five to rent) are located quite separately from the touring and tent areas. These are surrounded by mature trees and are arranged in large open bays. There is a new tent and touring area with electricity points, so now there are 60 reasonably level, mostly grass touring pitches, 48 with 10A electricity available.
Foresterseat Caravan Park is a very peaceful place to spend your holiday, just what you need to recharge your batteries if you are looking for a restful break away from it all. Situated with beautiful views of the Angus glens, wild flower meadows, running streams and even an adjacent Nature Reserve. There is a lovely nature trail with bee hotels, red squirrels, deer, weasels and even moles! The park is only two miles from Forfar, which you can walk via 'Chester's walk' taking approximately an hour, or you can get the bus. At the back end of the park through a green iron gate you are at the Bistro called Sinclair's where they serve lunch, afternoon tea's, dinner and the bar is open until 11.00 pm. If heading out into town there is an assortment of shops and restaurants catering for every taste imaginable. The site has 65 grass or hardstanding pitches of which 50 are fully serviced.
A quiet, family park, Riverview overlooks a long sandy beach and has magnificent views over the estuary of the River Tay towards the Kingdom of Fife. It is a short walk to the shops and facilities of Monifieth. The park is neatly set out with flowering shrubs and bushes and some of the 40 numbered touring pitches enjoy estuary views. They are grassy and level, each with 16A electricity and two also with water and drainage. Bordering the park are 46 privately owned caravan holiday homes and four to rent. At the entrance to the park is a small reception office, a separate tourist information room and a leisure suite with sauna, steam baths and gym (charged).
Oban Camping and Caravanning Club site at Barcaldine by Connel is 12 miles north of Oban. This small, intimate site has 75 grass and hardstanding pitches, 52 with electrical hook-ups (16A), arranged within the old walled garden of Barcaldine House. The site therefore has some protection from the wind which makes it quite a sun trap (can be wet underfoot in bad weather). Being a small site, it has a very cosy feel to it, due no doubt to the friendly welcome given to new arrivals. Opposite the campsite is a marina with a little beach you can walk along.There’s a sandy beach at nearby Benderloch and the wonderful family friendly Ben Lora cafe and bookshop comes highly recommended. Take the path opposite up to the summit of Beinn Lora and you'll be rewarded with fantastic views across to Mull.
Witches Craig is a neat and tidy park nestling under the Ochil Hills. All 60 pitches have 10A electricity and hardstanding, seven of these being large (taking American-style motorhomes easily). Reasonably level, the park covers five well-maintained acres with beautifully manicured grass Being by the A91, there is some daytime road noise. Trees have been planted to minimise this, but the further back onto the park you go, the less the traffic is heard.
Nethercraig is a family run touring park, attractively designed and beautifully landscaped, with views across the Strathmore valley to the long range of the Sidlaw hills. The 50 large touring pitches are accessed from a circular, gravel road, all with 10A electrical connections and 40 on hardstanding (for awnings too). In addition, there are five large pitches for tents on flat grass. There is a personal welcome for all visitors at the attractive modern reception building and shop which provides the necessary essentials, gas and tourist information. The owners have arranged discounts with three local golf courses. A one mile circular woodland walk from the park has picnic benches and a leaflet guide is provided.
Monturpie Caravan Park is an adults-only site perfect for those seeking a peaceful camping break away with far-reaching views across the sea. The site is ideally located near the East Neuk of Fife, St Andrews and the East Coast of Scotland.
