This new complex offers its guests a relaxing holiday with high-quality services set in the picturesque landscapes of Lake Trasimeno. Camping Pian di Boccio
Pian di Boccio is a small-scale campsite in the heart of Umbria. It is situated near the fortress town of Bevagna and within a radius of 60 kilometres from the most critical cities in Umbria. The campsite is uniquely located in the middle of an olive orchard with views of the mountainous landscape. Pian di Boccio has plenty of activities, such as football, tennis, volleyball, and archery. It also has a playground. With bicycle hire available from reception, they can tell you where all the best cycle routes are in the region.
Camping Badiaccia
A lakeside site, Camping Badiaccia Village, has a relaxed atmosphere and excellent views of the surrounding hills and the islands of the lake. Being directly on the lake, with a long sandy beach, gives an almost seaside atmosphere.
Camping Il Collaccio
Castelvecchio di Preci is tucked away in the tranquil heights of the mountainous Umbrian countryside, as is Camping Il Collaccio, which is set on a hillside. The 100 or so terraced touring pitches, with shade and 6A electricity, have stunning views. The friendly family have run the business well for over 30 years, planting thousands of trees here in the process.
Camping Village Punta Navaccia
Situated on the north side of Lake Trasimeno, close to two of the lake’s islands, Punta Navaccia is run by the three ebullient Migliorati sisters. It is a large site with 400 flat, shaded touring pitches (with 6A electricity), mostly near the lakeside. The site is adjacent to a soft sand beach and has a dock with facilities for mooring and launching your boat. The hub of the site is bustling with a full animation programme for children and adults. A huge amphitheatre stages entertainment and is located close to all the other services. This is a great and very Italian site where families will have fun at reasonable prices.
Camping Rio Verde
This is a very peaceful and straightforward campsite located in a wooded valley with plenty of shade. There are 50 informally arranged pitches with 6A electricity connections. Some pitches are a little uneven and the site slopes in parts. Amenities include a small, fenced swimming pool (with lifeguard) and a restaurant serving simple food from the region. This campsite is ideal for outdoor activity enthusiasts. The area is also excellent for hill walking and mountain biking, with a pleasant excursion possible up Monte Catria where wild horses graze on the lower slopes.
Camping Village Cerquestra
With panoramic views of Lago Trasimeno, Camping Village Cerquestra offers an idyllic retreat for those seeking a tranquil Italian escape. This charming campsite, situated on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, provides the perfect base for exploring the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region. On-site, there are 61 touring pitches, of which have 6-amp electric hook-up points. While Cerquestra may appear small, its terraced layout ensures ample privacy for campers, thanks to the lush vegetation. Though not directly on the lake, the campsite boasts stunning views of the waters. The higher pitches offer even more spectacular views.
Trasimeno Glamping Resort
Trasimeno Glamping Resort is located in Sant'Arcangelo di Magione directly on the shores of Lake Trasimeno. It's within the heart of Umbria, near the border with Tuscany, offering a blend of natural beauty, comfort, and a wide range of activities. On site, there are various spacious touring pitches to choose from all with electric hook up points available. Options include XXL Lake view Pitches  (some directly by the lake) and Comfort pitches with private sanitary facilities available.
Villaggio Parco dei Pini
A pretty new site on the lakeside, this is a great alternative to the larger sites in the area. It is set in the grounds of the oldest villa on the lake (restoration is in progress) and the whole site has been refurbished to a very high level using the existing historic buildings to provide the high quality amenities. The 40 flat, good sized pitches are under enormous trees giving excellent shade and there is a very peaceful atmosphere with some pitches enjoying lake views. A section of permanent pitches is placed unobtrusively in a separate area of the site.
Camping Polvese
Beside the lake, Polvese takes its name from the island which can be seen clearly from the site. The 70 touring pitches (6/9A electricity) are in one corner, but the site is primarily for the 250 very permanent pitches rented by Italian and German guests. We see this as a site for short visits rather than extended stays. On flat ground, the pitches are reasonably sized, and some are by the lake. Mature trees provide good shade. There are two pools, one is for children, but it is deep. The restaurant is close to the gate, as is the entertainment area.
Camping Listro
This is a simple, pleasant, T-shaped site with the best beach on Lake Trasimeno. Listro provides 100 pitches, all with 3A electricity, many of which are on the lakeside giving stunning views out of your windows and shade is available on most. Facilities are fairly limited with a small shop, bar and snack bar, and there is no organised entertainment. English is spoken and British guests are particularly welcome. The campsite’s beach is private and the lake has very gradually sloping beaches making it very safe for children to play and swim. A great site for those who enjoy the peace and quiet of simple camping without the comprehensive facilities and busy activities found on many other lakeside sites. This is reflected in the prices which are very reasonable.
Green Village Assisi
Green Village Assisi is an excellent site situated on the west side of Assisi and provides a green environment and tranquillity. Situated on a 30.000 Sqm green area of pinewood forest, it is a good base to visit both Saint Francis’ city, only 3.5 km away, and nearby Perugia and Lake Trasimeno. The flat grassy pitches, with 6A electricity, vary in size and some are specifically for motorhomes overlooking the hills to Assisi. It can be very hot in this part of Italy, and a welcome relief is a large pool and shady pitches. The excellent restaurant serves reasonably priced meals, ranging from pizzas to local Umbrian dishes. A large terrace can be completely enclosed. A daily shuttle bus service is available to the city, which is lit up in the evenings, providing a beautiful backdrop from some areas of the site. An ideal place for families with children to enjoy safely the spacious playground and swimming pool.
Camping Kursaal Hotel
Opened in 1967, Camping Kursaal is the oldest campsite at Lago Trasimeno and sets a very high standard. Located directly beside the lake, it is a small site with 60 touring pitches. Attractively laid out under tall pines, all pitches have 4/6A electricity and shade from trees and large flowering shrubs. Superb views are enjoyed by the pitches on the lakeside itself whilst others have more limited lake views. The site is in the grounds of an attractive old villa which is now a good quality hotel. Camping visitors can use the hotel amenities including the bar, lounge and the excellent restaurant.
Camping Il Falcone
This small and neat, eco-friendly site provides just 36 terraced pitches (half for motorhomes and caravans) in a steeply sloping olive grove that gives some shade. There are magnificent views across the valley below. The terrace of the small bar is an ideal spot from which to watch the magnificent sunsets over the countryside beyond. A small pool is very welcome when the weather is hot. This is an excellent base from which to explore the Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio regions. The friendly Valeri family will do all they can to make your stay peaceful and enjoyable.
Camping Monti del Sole
Monti del Sole is a very friendly site situated in woodland, just 5 km. from the medieval town of Narni. Alfredo Petrini and his delightful daughter, Angela-Rose, will give you a very warm welcome. There are 80 pitches of various sizes, all with 6A electricity and most well shaded and grassy. A small shop sells basics and a bar/restaurant offers pleasant local cuisine. The swimming pools are attractive. Prices here are reasonable but the facilities are fairly limited. This is a quiet, unsophisticated site that will suit those looking for peaceful surroundings. The town of Narni has much of interest, especially the underground rooms beneath the old monastery of San Domenico which include a cell used by the Inquisition and decorated with prisoners’ graffiti.
Capitello Camping
Capitello Camping is an attractive and peaceful family site set near the curving River Tiber. It is efficiently run by the dynamic young owner, Alberto. The 35 slightly sloping pitches (80-120 sq.m) have electricity (5A), water and shade and enjoy great views of the medieval hilltop town of Otricoli. The swimming pool complex is a superb place for all the family with a variety of swimming and paddling pools, large soft slides and an area for relaxation.
Camping la Spiaggia
La Spiaggia has its own beach and is pleasantly covered with pine and oak trees providing shade to most pitches. The 50 touring pitches (60-100 sq.m) with 6/10A electricity are clearly defined and some are separated by dwarf hedges. This is an attractive, compact site which is well managed and cared for with attractive pools and a small café/restaurant with terrace overlooking the lake. A small shop provides fresh bread to order. All sorts of activities are possible on the lake including canoeing, sailing and windsurfing and there are numerous opportunities for hiking and mountain biking in the surrounding hills.

Umbria

Known as the ‘green heart of Italy’, Umbriais a beautiful region of rolling hills, woods, streams and valleys that gives way to high mountain wilderness. It is well known for the beauty and profusion of its medieval hilltowns.

Trevi, Umbria

Umbria’s main attractions are the Vale of Spoleto and the hill towns of Spoleto and Assisi. The birthplace of Saint Francis, Assisi attracts vast numbers of art lovers and pilgrims throughout the year who visit his burial place, the Basilica di San Francesco, built in 1228, two years after his death. With a scenic woodland setting, Spoleto was once an important Roman colony. The town has the remains of a Roman amphitheatre, reputedly where ten thousand Christian martyrs were slaughtered, and a variety of Romanesque churches. It also boasts an impressive 14th-century aqueduct.

Near Perugia, the regional capital, is Lake Trasimeno, the fourth largest lake in Italy. It has plenty of opportunities for fishing, swimming and water sports. The lakeside town of Castiglione del Lago is a good place to relax and unwind on the small sandy beaches; from here, boats make regular trips tothe Isola Maggiore, one of the lake’s three islands. Further north is Gubbio, the most thoroughly medieval of all the Umbrian towns. A charming place full of twisting streets with soft pink stone houses and terracotta tiled rooftops, its beauty is enhanced by the forest-clad Apennine mountains looming up behind.

Umbria has two provinces:  Perugia and Terni.
