Martfü Health & Recreation Centre
The Martfü campsite is a modern site with 61 touring pitches on grassy terrain with rubber hardstandings. Each is around 90 sq.m. and separated by young bushes and trees. All have electricity (16/25A), waste water drainage, cable and satellite TV. There is a water tap per two pitches. There is no shade as yet, which may cause the site to become a real suntrap in summer, when temperatures may rise up to 34 degrees. A small lake and its beach on the site will cool you off. The main attraction at this site is the thermal spa, which is said to aid people with skin and rheumatic problems.
Dorcas Christian Camping Centre
Debrecen is an interesting old town, close to the Hortobagy National Park and convenient if you are looking for a break travelling to Romania or the Ukraine. Dorcas is a Dutch Christian organisation and the campsite provides holidays for special causes. The site is about 10 km. from Debrecen in a forest location, fenced and covered with trees. The 40 flat and grassy touring pitches are off tarmac access roads, arranged in four groups. Some pitches are divided by hedges, others marked out by trees and all have electricity available (6A). A pool and a restaurant are on the site and a lake for swimming, fishing and boating is close by.

The Great Plain

The great plain is one of Europe’s largest expanses of protected prairie, where Hungarian cattle, horses, sheep and buffalo herds graze on open pastures. This is an area where traditional ways of life continue alongside the new and in the town of Kalocsa it is possible to see red paprika hanging to dry under the eaves of houses. Lakes with beaches and rivers offer opportunities for boating, swimming and watersports.
