Just opposite a road that runs alongside the beautiful Danube river, this small site has only 40 pitches (all for tourers and with 4A electricity) and two static units. It is owned by the Honti Hotel 50 m. down the road and this is where reception is located. It is attractively landscaped with low trees, shrubs and flowers. The good sized pitches are arranged on well kept, grassy lawns, separated by hedges in the middle field. Between the hotel and the site a new pool complex has been built complete with indoor and outdoor pools, a pool for children, massage rooms, a hot tub, salt caves and infrared cabins.
Camping Haller is very much a city site, set in a park in the centre of Budapest. It has 100 pitches available for touring, on a new, open area, most with hardstanding and some in the shade of mature trees, all with 16A electricity. The site is close to buses, the metro and trams for visiting the beautiful city of Budapest. From the site it is a few hundred metres walk to the banks of the Danube where you can enjoy an evening stroll after a day visiting the town.
This unusual 3.5 hectare site is on an island (accessed by a wooden bridge) on the Danube and is a convenient starting point for hikes, cycling, boating and excursions to famous attractions in the neighbourhood. The site has spacious green areas, tall trees and shaded grounds. The 80 touring pitches are level and grassy and all have electricity (4A, not Europlugs). Bungalows and chalets for hire occupy another 48 pitches. Very close to the capital city, there is a bus stop right in front of the site and buses to Budapest run every 30 minutes. You can hire a canoe or go hiking in the surrounding hills or cycle beside the river.
This good site lies at the foot of a hill with views of the vineyards, but Budapest is only 25 minutes away by bus. Concrete and gravel access roads lead to terraces where there are 170 individual pitches most bordered with hedges, all with electricity (up to 16A, long leads needed) and 14 with water, on slightly sloping ground. The site is surrounded by mature trees and Mr Szücs, the owner, will proudly name the 150 varieties of bushes and shrubs that edge the pitches. An open-air swimming pool with flume will help you to cool off in summer with an indoor pool for cooler weather.
Budapest and District
An increasingly popular destination, Budapest is divided into parts by the Danube. A cruise along the river will enable you to appreciate this picturesque city with its grand buildings, romantic bridges, museums and art galleries. It also has plenty of spas to tempt you. North of the city, the Danube bend is one of the grandest stretches of the river, along the banks of which you’ll find historic towns and ruins.
