Máré Vára Camping
Máré Vára takes its name from an ancient castle situated on top of a hill, two kilometres away, where the German noble family of Mariën once lived. The site is on archaeological ground: where the main house now stands, there used to be a monastery and centuries before that there was an ancient Roman settlement. Some 40 pitches (36 with 10A electricity) are on slightly sloping, well kept fields. On site is a small swimming pool (7x3 m). Modern toilet facilities are in an old barn and here in the walls one can see remains of the former monastery.
Camping Forras
Camping Forras, or ‘Bij Balázc’ as it is called by some Dutch guests, is close to the historic city of Pécs, in a part of Hungary with a Mediterranean style climate. It is next to the renovated thermal spa of Magyarhertelend, and close to the Mescék National Park, where there are many marked walking routes. The site has 120 pitches, all for tourers, off gravel and grass access roads. Of these, 45 are marked and have 6A electricity connections. The remaining pitches are used mainly for tents. The whole site looks well cared for with many different varieties of trees giving a pleasant atmosphere and providing useful shade in summer.

Southern Danube

This area is bordered by rivers and lies to the south of Lake Balaton. It benefits from a sub Mediterranean climate. The centre of the region is undoubtedly Pécs, a 2000-year old town with relics from the Roman Era, Turkish mosques and a graceful minarette built in the 16th century. The climate makes this a perfect choice for outdoor activities and wine tasting.
