Camping Paradies Gruner Jager
Grüner Jäger is a welcoming campsite nestled in the heart of the northern German countryside. It's more than just a stopover; it's a place to unwind and explore. The Everinghausen nature reserve is right on your doorstep, offering opportunities for cycling, swimming, and immersing yourself in nature. For a change of scenery, a day trip to Bremen is easily accessible. While the campsite enjoys a tranquil rural setting, its proximity to the A1 motorway ensures convenient arrival.
Uhlenköper-Camp Uelzen
The Körding family have owned this site since 2001 and have recently been joined by their son and his family to further improve the site. Their efforts are evident with electricity connections, water taps and 85 touring pitches. Of these, 40 are fully serviced with 16A electricity, water and drainage. The pitches are arranged in seven grassy areas, each taking eight to ten units, with a separate field to one side for cyclists. Pitches are 80-100 sq.m. with shade from high bushes and some trees. To the rear of the site are some rental and private static caravans. The site also features some genuinely innovative glamping options.
Erholungsgebiet Doktor-See
Erholungsgebiet Doktor-See is a large site near the town of Rinteln, on the Weser River around the Doktorsee lake. This hilly landscape with alternating agricultural and natural areas, many small towns and villages with picturesque half-timbered houses, has a friendly atmosphere. The first impression of the site is overwhelming. This is because of the enormous proportions of the grounds. The grounds are well kept, and the 1400 pitches are average in size and mostly located around the edge of the lake. Around the lake are a number of holiday cottages and mobile homes. There is also a marina, a motorboat club and a church.
Camping Am Waldbad
Am Waldbad is a laid-back campsite nestled in the rolling hills and woods of the Weserbergland, just 4 kilometers from Hameln. If you crave independence and enjoy exploring, this is your perfect camping escape. Surrounded by nature, charming towns, historic castles, and villages, the campsite offers a vibrant outdoor experience. Its name reflects its idyllic location at the forest’s edge, adjacent to a refreshing swimming pool. The site itself is perched on a hill overlooking a spacious open field.
Knaus Campingpark Bleckede
This welcoming site is in the middle of the bio reserve of the Elbtalaue, an excellent area for walking and cycling. The site provides 225 pitches (142 for tourers), all with a minimum of 6A electricity. Pitching is in long lanes off hard roads on grassy fields (some slightly sloping, some on terraces). There are two fully serviced pitches. To the front of the site are a shop and a large room for activities, where you can also have breakfast. Adjacent to the site are the open-air public pool (free for campers) and tennis courts. Being in a reserve, you will find plenty of information about the local flora and fauna on and around the site, including a special ‘hotel’ for bees.
Stover Strand International
This is a large site, part of which directly borders the River Elbe, with 500 pitches, of which 200 are for touring (all with electricity, water and drainage). The main part of the site is located behind a dyke and contains reception and the principal sanitary facilities. Pitches bordering and overlooking The Elbe are serviced by excellent, modern mobile sanitary units containing WCs and washbasins. Along the Elbe’s banks there are sandy areas useful for playing and sunbathing in summer with some showers. Next to the site’s main building there is a further area set aside for touring units and this has easy access to the main sanitary facilities, the bar and restaurant and children’s playground.
Camping-Aller-Leine-Tal
This is a simple, family-run campsite on the bank of the River Aller in a wooded location in Lower Saxony. It's a peaceful area with dense woods home to red squirrels and deer, heather-carpeted heathland, slow-moving waterways, windmills and tree-lined country lanes - perfect, unspoilt scenery for cycling and walking along the local trails.
Campingplatz am Hardausee
The Hardausee site has evolved from a seasonal-only site into a site for touring units. There are 80 touring pitches, all with fresh water connections and 16A electricity, and 270 seasonal units, but as soon as a seasonal guest leaves, the pitch will be re-allocated for touring. Hardausee is on sloping ground although the grassy, marked pitches are mostly level. Some pitches are numbered and most are 120 sq.m. or larger in size. The newer pitches have hardly any shade, but mature trees surround the older field. There are 45 serviced pitches with 16A electricity, fresh water and drainage. It is an easy 300 m. walk from the site to the Hardausee.
Camping Braunlage
Set in the beautiful Hartz Mountains, Camping Braunlage is a perfect site for active campers who want to hike, bike or ski, or for those who simply want to relax. This terraced, mainly grassed, family run campsite has 200 pitches (100 for tourists) all featuring 16A electricity. They also offer campers a separate parking space. You'll find a modern sanitary block here, as well as a good restaurant and a small pond/lake.
Camping Eulenburg
Camping Eulenburg lies within an area of 50,000 square metres directly in a protected area, the river Söse and near the Sösetalsperre. The Eulenburg is an ideal starting point for trips to the Harz National Park with its beautiful unspoiled landscape. This family site offers 130 individual pitches with electricity hook-ups (approximately 80 for tourists), surrounded by trees, meadows and streams. There are also simple rooms to rent in the CampingHotel.
Camping Wiesenbeker Teich
Camping Wiesenbeker Teich, classified in Germany as an eco campsite, is situated in the Harz National Park on the edge of the forest, 2.5 kilometres from Bad Lauterberg. It is on the south western shore of the lake, which is a popular destination, with many opportunities for recreational activities. The terraced family site offers 90 touring pitches (6-16A electricity), divided into 30 for caravans, 20 for motorhomes and 40 for tents. Almost all the pitches overlook the lake and due to its location it is quiet with no through traffic, although a walking route around the lake runs through the site. There are also 30 permanent rental units, including a wooden wigwam settlement, a biker house and caravans. Bed and breakfast and half board are also available.
Comfort Camping Seeburger See
Comfort Camping Seeburger See lies on the outskirts of the small village of Seeburg and is only a few hundred metres from the largest natural lake in Lower Saxony. The site has a long season, from the beginning of March to the end of December. The area is surrounded by the rolling hills of the Southern Hartz Mountains.
Camping Am Bärenbache
Pleasantly situated and over 600 metres high in the Harz, Campingplatz Bärenbache is a quiet, attractive, well-run family site having direct access to the forests that surround it. This terraced site on a south-facing slope reaps the maximum benefit from the sun throughout the year and offers views of the surrounding hills in an area known for its fresh air. Of the 150 pitches, 90 are reserved for touring units all having 10A electrical connections. The level pitches are separated by hedges and are of various sizes, some suitable for one, others for several units. At the lower end of the site is a large, heated, outdoor swimming pool complex adjoined by a bar/restaurant.
Camping See Achtern Diek
Campsite See Achtern Diek is in Otterndorf, Lower Saxony, located by the sea and by a lake. Cuxhafen is already worth a holiday. And the area on the beach near Otterndorf is most endearing. Beautiful location well maintained and a wonderful view of the Elbe estuary. The site is separated by a dike at the mouth of the Elbe. Directly on site is a lake with sunbathing lawn where numerous leisure activities are offered, including a water ski facility, windsurfing, wild water sailing, kayaking and water-skiing. There is no restaurant, but there is a good one near the lake. The site staff are very friendly and helpful. Particularly noteworthy is the varied greenery on the site but also the location itself, right next to the beautiful Bad Otterndorf. Wi-Fi charged. Children’s playground. Indoor playground Sports area. Hikers' cabins available to rent. Dogs allowed. The site has several cycling routes. Entertainment programme. In the vicinity you can swim in the sea. The site has 800 pitches, 212 for touring units, 340 occupied by seasonal units, 6 log cabins available to hire and the rest are used by mobile homes.
Südsee-Camp
Südsee-Camp in the Lüneburger Heide is a large, well organised holiday centre where children are especially well catered for. There are 726 touring pitches of varying types and sizes, 580 with electricity (4-10A), fresh water and drainage; 440 of these have a TV connection. Modern sanitary blocks are well maintained and contain all necessary facilities, including some areas specially built for children. Although centred around a large sandy shored lake, complete with shipwreck, the main swimming attraction is the South Sea Tropical swimming pool. A member of Leading Campings group.
Campingplatz Am Hohen Hagen
This family run campsite is on the edge of the small town of Dransfeld in the heart of Lower Saxony. There are over 300 pitches of which 150 are for touring units, all with 16A electrical connections and 20 also have water and waste water connections. One touring section offers superb views over the surrounding countryside. The site is quiet and relaxing in low season, becoming more lively during the main holiday period with a range of activities and entertainment provided. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance, whilst the old town of Göttingen is an easy drive away and provides a wider range of shops, bars and restaurants.
Regenbogen Bad Gandersheim
Attractively situated between a tree-covered hill and the B64 road, this is a well run site with a stream running through the middle, with plenty of trees but little shade. It has 400 level pitches of which 250 are for touring units, most with 10A electricity. They are all well marked and easily accessible, divided into long- and short-stay areas and a section for those with animals. The site provides good amenities for both summer walkers and winter skiers. On the edge of the Harz area, you can exploring the twisty and busy roads of the main resort towns or participate in one of the organised walks.
Knaus Campingpark Eckwarderhörne
Knaus Campingpark Eckwarderhörne is directly on the Wadden Sea National Park. This is an excellent area to enjoy the North Sea beaches and watch the tides change. It has 180 pitches, of which just 30 are for tourers, on flat and open grassy fields right behind the dyke. There are two pitches for very large units and 16 hardstandings. All are fully serviced with water, waste water and 16A electricity. Being small, it is much quieter than many of the sites along this stretch of coast. Over 250 km. of cycle routes have been laid out in the vicinity, and of course one can try the famous Wad Walking (bring your oldest clothes) to get as close as possible to the wildlife. On the Butjadingen peninsula, time seems to slow down, making this a great spot for a relaxing holiday surrounded by nature.
Camping Hümmlinger Land
Camping Hümmlinger Land is located on the outskirts of Werlte and close to one of the longest megalithic tombs in Germany, the so-called “Hoogen Stainer”. Conveniently close to the village centre yet in the middle of nature surrounded by the beautiful Hümmling Park. The campsite has its own free 'Barefoot Path', minigolf, billiards and a sauna (extra charges). This award-winning site has around 60 touring pitches. Sleeping barrels, a shepherd's hut and a tree tent are available to rent.
