Situated in the Meinweg National Park, this large site with facilities on a holiday camp scale caters well for families with children of all ages. Of the 800 grassed pitches (averaging 90 sq.m) 400 are for touring units. They are level, separated into enclosures of various sizes by hedges and most have 10A electricity. There is ample tree shade over the site, grassed places to sunbathe and a wealth of activities to keep children busy. Beside reception, the main building houses a restaurant/bar with terrace on the first floor, a supermarket and other eating and drinking establishments.

Reception is large and efficient, with English spoken. Facilities include two very good outdoor heated swimming pools, both 25x15 m. one deep, one shallow, and a small children’s pool (open about 7/5-7/9). Grass sunbathing areas extend down to the sandy surrounds of a lake used for boating and swimming. These are free to campers except for an initial fee for an identity pass. This is a dog-friendly site with walking opportunities in the adjacent national park.

Four toilet blocks are clean and well maintained, and include individual washbasins with cold water, baby room and accessible facilities. Launderette. Supermarket. Restaurant/bar (high season). Takeaway (high season). Swimming pools (May-Oct). Organised sports programme (July/Aug. and school holidays). Fishing lake. Large playground on grass and sand, Bicycle hire. No charcoal barbecues. WiFi in reception area (Free).

From Roermond take Wassenberg road to southeast (to find this exit you can also follow white signs to Roerstreek industrial estate); pass turning on right to Herkenbosch after 6 km. and turn left to site 1 km. further on.
