This exceptionally well managed site is ideally positioned to use as a base to visit the spectacular Picos de Europa or one of the many sandy beaches along this northern coast. Despite its name, it is a kilometre from the beach on foot. The 120 touring pitches all have 10A electricity (long leads needed in places), ten are fully serviced. The fairly flat central area is allocated to tents while caravans are mainly sited on wide terraces (access to some could be a little tight for larger units) and there is some shade. There may be some traffic noise on the lower terraces.
Some pitches are occupied by seasonal units and another 50 are taken up by chalets to let. The site is in lovely countryside (good walking and cycling country), with some views of the fabulous Picos mountains, and is near the Cacarbeno National Park. The owner’s son, Pablo, and his wife, Maria, are assisted by Francis in providing a personal service and excellent English is spoken. The site is well lit and a guard patrols at night (in high season). The site gets busy with a fairly large Spanish community in season and there can be the usual happy noise of them enjoying themselves, especially at weekends.
