Alan Rogers Review of Camping Bois Soleil
Located in the popular seaside resort of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne, near sunny Royan, Bois Soleil is surrounded by woods and overlooks the sea. It is a large site in three parts, with serviced pitches for touring units and a few for tents. All the touring pitches are hedged and have electricity (10A), with water and drainage between two pitches. The main part, Les Pins, is attractive, with trees and shrubs providing shade. Opposite is La Mer, with direct access to the beach, some areas with less shade and an area for tents. The third part, La Forêt, is for caravan holiday homes.
The magnificent sandy beach is the big draw, but best to book early as the site can be full from mid-June to late August. Excellent private sanitary facilities are available to rent, either on your pitch or at a block (subject to availability).
There are a few pitches with lockable gates. The areas are all well tended and are cleared and raked between visitors. This lively site offers something for everyone, whether it be a beach-side spot or a traditional pitch, plenty of activities or the quiet life. Recent additions include a new toilet block and some accommodation to rent with sea views. The wide sandy beach is popular with children and provides a pleasant walk to the pretty town of Saint Georges-de-Didonne.

Each area has one large and one small toilet block. Heated block near reception. Accessible facilities. Launderette. Supermarket, bakery, beach shop (all seasonal). Restaurant, bar and takeaway (all seasonal). Swimming pool (heated seasonally). Steam room. Fitness room. Tennis. Play area. Entertainment & kids' clubs (high season). TV room and library. Internet terminal (free). WiFi throughout (charged). Charcoal and electric barbecues are not permitted. Dogs are not accepted in high season.
