Alan Rogers Review
This traditional site is ideal for visiting Brugge (or Bruges). The 120 marked pitches (80 for touring caravans, 20 hard standing) are on level grass, with gravel roads and trees and hedges providing some shade. Electricity (10A) is available to all pitches. There is a separate area for 40 small, two-person tents. Bars, restaurants, local shops and supermarkets are within walking distance. Brugge itself has a network of cycleways, and for those on foot, a bus stops near the campsite and runs into the centre. Reservation from May to September is recommended. Visitors with large units should always telephone in advance to ensure an adequate pitch.
There is no restaurant on-site, but there are several to choose from in the centre of Sint-Kruis. As well as visiting Brugge, historical Ghent is just 40 minutes drive away. The international port of Zeebrugge and the town of Blankenberge are within 17 km. of the site if you are looking for a day out at the coast with sandy beaches and the usual amenities of a seaside resort.
A new toilet block provides washbasins (open and in cabins) and spacious showers. Laundry with washing machine and dryer. New reception room with self check-in, coffee vending machine, TV and piano. WiFi over site (free). Dogs are not accepted in July/Aug.
The motorway from Calais joins the E40 Oostende. In Jabbeke, follow the motorway towards Brussels until Exit 9 and follow the signs for Oostkamp. At first roundabout follow the signs for Sint-Kruis Assebroek, Brugge. At second roundabout straight on. Right at third roundabout and follow the sign for Brugge. Turn right onto Baron Ruzettelaan/N50 and straight over the roundabout, then right towards Buiten Gentpoortvest/R30. Follow R30 for a few more kilometers until just before ‘Kruispoort’, follow the sign to the right ‘N9 Maldegem’ onto the N9 Maalsesteenweg. At 2nd traffic lights opposite McDonalds go right and immediately left for another 400 m. to site.Link to campsite location map on google
