The Thermal Oasis is luxurious and there is a 50% discount for campers. This award-winning site has a great atmosphere and everyone was cheerful when we visited.
Camping Village Baia Domizia
This large, beautifully maintained seaside site is about 70 kilometres northwest of Naples within a pine forest, cleverly left in its natural state. Although it does not feel like it, there are 900 touring pitches in clearings, either of grass and sand or on hardstanding, all with electricity, 80 now also with water and waste water. Finding a pitch may take time as there are so many good ones to choose from, but staff will help in season. Most pitches are well shaded, however there are some in the sun for cooler periods. The central complex is superb with well designed buildings providing for all needs (the site is some distance from the town).
Camping Boschetto di Piemma
The medieval Manhattan of San Gimignano is one of Tuscany’s most popular sites and this new campsite lies just 2 km from the town. There are 35 touring pitches here, all with 6A electrical connections and some with shade from mature trees. There are other areas suitable for tents and about 50 mobile homes to rent. The site is in woodland surrounded by olive groves and vineyards and has been developed with much care for the environment, using rain water for irrigation and with many solar panels. There are numerous pitches available, Many of which are generously sized (up to 70-100 sqm) and offer natural shade from the surrounding trees. All pitches come with electric hook-up points (up to 6 amps).
Piomboni Camping Village
The pine forest which is home to Piomboni forms part of the Po Delta National Forest and has been spared the frantic commercial development of other parts of the Adriatic coast. The site, still family-owned and run, maintains a totally natural feel with pitches located between the ancient, tall pines and younger, dividing trees. There are 376 pitches for everything from tiny tents to motorhomes up to 8 metres, all with 4-10A electricity. Access to the beach is just 100 metres from the site gate and there are large, free public areas along with sunbeds for hire.Early in the evening, the children’s singing and dancing near the restaurant makes for a happy family atmosphere and the youngsters are certainly kept active with a busy programme in high season. Camping Union Lido Vacanze
This amazing site is very large, offering absolutely everything a camper could wish for. It is extremely professionally run and we were impressed with the whole organisation. It lies along a 1.2 km. long, broad sandy beach which shelves very gradually and offers a huge number of sporting activities. The site itself is regularly laid out with parallel access roads under a covering of poplars, pine and other trees. There are 2,200 pitches for touring units, all with 6/10/16A electricity and 1,969 also have water and drainage. Because of the size of the site, there is an internal road train and amenities are repeated across the site (cycling is permitted on specific roads). A member of Leading Campings group.
Camping Il Collaccio
Castelvecchio di Preci is tucked away in the tranquil heights of the mountainous Umbrian countryside, as is Camping Il Collaccio, which is set on a hillside. Camping San Cristoforo
This part of Italy is becoming better known by those wishing to spend time by a lake in the splendid countryside, but away from the more crowded, better-known resorts. Lake Caldonazzo is one of the smaller Italian lakes but is excellent for watersports. Camping San Cristoforo is a relatively new site on the edge of the small town of the same name and is separated from the lake by a minor road, but with easy access. There are 157 pitches on flat grass with tarmac access roads, separated by shady trees. The pitches are of a good size and all have 6A electricity. The site is owners aim is to build a happy family atmosphere and the manager speaks excellent English.
Camping la Rocca
Set high on a peninsula, on the quieter western shore of Lake Garda, La Rocca is an amiable, family orientated campsite. The 180 attractive touring pitches enjoy shade from the tree canopy, and 20 are on open terraces with lake views. Also, there are 25 mobile homes to rent. Visitors have the choice of two pebble lakeside beaches with a jetty. The beaches can be accessed from the site, and there is a pleasant pool complex. The site has all modern amenities without losing its distinctive Italian ambience with an open feel. Nothing is too much trouble for the management. The owner, Livio, is charming and very engaging with his pleasant, halting English. The restaurant offers a selection of dishes and pizzas, and there is a selection of sports activities. It is close to traditional Italian villages, modern theme parks and all manner of watersports. The beach is accessed via a tunnel beneath the road.

The site has 110 level pitches (30-80 sq.m), 100 for touring, all with 4-8A electricity, fresh water and drainage. They are on grass, mostly separated by hedges and have shade from trees. From the site there is access to a 100 m. long, private sandy beach. It slopes gently and is supervised by lifeguards, so is ideal for children. The beach is equipped with parasols and loungers, and there is a lighthouse nearby.
Camping Village Baia Azzurra
Encircled by hills, Baia Azzurra is a cool green site with lots of trees. There are 260 pitches with 180 average sized, grassy pitches for touring units. These are flat, shaded by tall trees and some have artificial shade. All have 3A electricity and eight also have water and drainage. This is a neat site with a regular layout and amenities are away from the pitches. The focal point of the site is the lagoon-shaped pool with bridge, modern restaurant and entertainment complex. There is direct access, across a minor road and a 150 m. walk, to the gently sloping sandy beach with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. This beach may be difficult for those with reduced mobility.
Camping Europa Silvella
This large, traditional, lakeside site is a merger of two different sites with the result that the 354 pitches (about 175 for touring units) appear randomly dispersed around the site. However, those alongside the lake are in small groups and close together; the main bar, restaurant and shop are also located at the lower level. The main area is at the top of a fairly steep hill on slightly sloping or terraced grass and has slightly larger pitches.
Camping Röse
Camping Röse enjoys a particularly favourable position, located directly on Lake Maggiore in the Canneti di Dormelletto Nature Reserve, just a few kilometres from Arona. Milan is around 50 km away and makes a great day trip, with its design and fashion heritage and magnificent Gothic cathedral. The campsite is small and friendly with a welcoming atmosphere and is well laid out with large, grassy pitches, well shaded by mature plane trees with electricity and water.Camping Röse has its own lake beach with umbrellas and deckchairs on the grassy area leading down to it. It's perfect for swimming and watersports and is close to the bar and the adjacent sports field where youngsters can run around freely. A swimming pool with Jacuzzi allows you to relax and take in the scenery of Lake Maggiore as you soak in the warm waters. The onsite restaurant-pizzeria is popular, with a decent menu offering local specialities, and has a large terrace overlooking the lake. For children there is a convenient play area equipped with table football, table tennis and video games.
Camping Village Internazionale
This is a high quality site with a particularly attractive, cliffside location within the Parco del Cónero. The 230 pitches (110 for touring units, most with 10A electricity) are on terraces shelving down towards two bays. Most pitches have fine sea views and all have shade. The terrain and access are steep, and the pitches small (25-50 sq.m), so large caravans and motorhomes may find this site unsuitable. It may also prove challenging for those who find hills a problem. However, the site is efficiently run and well maintained with a good range of leisure amenities. The restaurant and bar are very popular, thanks no doubt to their magnificent views and good local cuisine.

Molise

Southern Italy forms the lower boot of the Italian peninsula, containing the ankle (Abruzzo and Molise and southern Lazio), the toe (Calabria), and the heel (Apulia). On the eastern coast is the Adriatic Sea, leading into the rest of the Mediterranean through the Strait of Otranto. On the Adriatic, south of the spur of the boot, the peninsula of Monte Gargano, the Gulf of Salerno, the Gulf of Naples, and the Gulf of Gaeta are each named after a large coastal city.

Molise is a small region in southern Italy, bordered by Abruzzo to the north, Apulia to the east, Lazio to the west, and Campania to the south. It has a short stretch of coastline on the Adriatic Sea, and the rest of its territory is mountainous. Molise is the second smallest region in Italy, after the Aosta Valley, but it is packed with natural beauty, historical sites, and cultural attractions. In Molise, the city of Isernia is where traces of a million-year-old village were unearthed in 1979, the most ancient signs of human life ever found in Europe. And the quiet resort and fishing port of Térmoli, from where Italian and Central European time is set, is a good place to relax.

The region consists of the following Provinces: Campobasso and Isernia
