Just forty minutes from Florence and an hour from Pisa, this site is beautifully situated high in the Tuscan hills, close to the fascinating town of Pistoia. Part of an old walled estate, there are impressive views of the surrounding countryside.

It is a quiet site of 15 hectares, and the 274 terraced pitches enjoy shade from mature pines and oaks. Some pitches are huge, with great views, and others are very private. Most are for touring units, although some have difficult access (the site provides tractor assistance). All 274 touring pitches have electricity, and 40 are fully serviced. A member of the Leading Campings group.

The site has an attractive bar, a smart restaurant with terraces (try the brilliant traditional dishes) and a leased shop. The infinity-style pools have really stunning views to the west (on a clear day you may see the island of Capraia). Pleasant walks can be taken in the grounds of the estate. This is a most attractive and popular site, which will appeal to those who prefer a quiet site but with plenty to do for all age groups. In high season an information kiosk supplies tourist information, makes bookings and helps generally. The site is used by tour operators.

Directions to Camping Barco Reale

From Pistoia (highway A11 from Pisa to Firenze) follow the signs to Lamporecchio-Empoli-Vinci. From Empoli signs to Vinci and San Baronto. Final approach involves a sharp bend and a steep slope.
