Expect a warm welcome at Sites et Paysages de Vaubarlet, a peaceful and spacious family run site. Located in a beautiful riverside setting, it has 131 marked, level, grassy, pitches, with those around the perimeter having shade (young trees and shrubs provide separation between the large pitches). The family has made great efforts to ensure all guests benefit equally from its facilities. There are 101 pitches, all with 16A electricity for touring units. The remaining places are occupied by site-owned tents and mobile homes including two fully equipped for disabled guests. Excellent facilities for guests with disabilities including an electric buggy, hoist to assist entry into the pool, and well equipped sanitary facilities.
Sports equipment is provided from table tennis bats to the boules stored and always available at the pétanque area. The catering facilities have a well thought out system for pre-ordering takeaway food and is more evidence of the care and attention paid to all the amenities. This is an excellent base for walking, cycling and riding excursions. Tourist attractions in and around the region include a textile museum in Sainte-Sigolène, an ‘escargot’ farm in nearby Grazac, the stunning scenery, châteaux and churches of the Haute-Loire, and the annual medieval festival in Le Puy-en-Velay each September.

Very good, clean toilet blocks include a baby room. Two family bathrooms which double as accessible facilities. Washing machine, dryer. Small shop, bread. Bar, restaurant and takeaway (mid May-mid Sept). Attractive swimming pool, children’s pool. Separate solarium. Boules. Extensive riverside grass games area. Playground. Activities in season include camp fire, music evenings, children’s canoe lessons. Trout fishing. Birdwatching. WiFi (free).
