This is a very large, well equipped, holiday-style site with its own beach and both indoor and outdoor pools. With a good number of typical Spanish long stay units, the length of the site is impressive (1 km) and a bicycle is very helpful for getting about. The 800 regularly laid out, gravel touring pitches (84 or 110 sq.m) are generally separated by hedges which provide some privacy but very little shade. Each has a 10A electricity supply, water and the possibility of satellite TV reception. This site’s excellent facilities are ideally suited for holidays in the winter when the weather is very pleasantly warm. Daytime temperatures in November usually exceed 20 degrees.

If you are suffering from aches and pains try the famous local mud treatment. Reception will assist with bookings. La Manga is a 22 km. long, narrow strip of land, bordered by the Mediterranean on one side and by the Mar Menor on the other with sandy bathing beaches on both sides. The very end of the southern part is great for ‘getting away from it all’ (take a picnic for the beach and be sure to go over the little bridge for privacy). The campsite is situated on the approach to ‘the strip’, enjoying the benefit of its own semi-private beach with impressive tall palm trees alongside the Mar Menor, which provides shallow warm waters, ideal for families with children. Here you will find a sailing, canoeing and windsurfing school, and an excellent restaurant/bar serving traditional Spanish tapas and meals. In winter, when British occupancy exceeds 60 per cent, typical British meals are available including Sunday roast and full breakfasts.

Directions to Caravaning La Manga

Use exit (Salida) 11 from MU312 dual carriageway towards Cabo de Palos, signed Playa Honda (site signed also). Cross road bridge and double back on yourself. Site entrance is clearly visible beside dual carriageway with many flags flying.
