Les Gorges du Chambon is a wonderful site with 28 hectares of protected natural environment in the rolling Perigord Vert countryside. Of the 132 pitches, the 92 for touring are incredibly generous in size (150 sq.m), some level, others on a gentle slope, and they enjoy a mixture of sunshine and shade.

This spacious site offers fine walks through the woodlands and around the grounds. Flora and fauna are as nature intended. Here, you can feel at peace and enjoy precious moments of quiet. Much work has been done with the ecology association. The songs of the birds can be heard against the backdrop of water flowing gently down a small river on one side of the campsite. A wide variety of birds can be seen around the site.

Guided walks are a feature. At its centre is a restored Charentais farmhouse and its outbuildings. A converted barn provides space for the restaurant and bar and the food is excellent, at a reasonable price. There is a brand new heated swimming pool together with a paddling pool. There is also a sand beach area along the river and canoes can be hired on the site. The site owners are friendly and very helpful and want you to enjoy your time at their site.

Directions to Les Gorges du Chambon

Leave N141 Angoulême-Limoges road at Rochefoucauld take D6 to Montbron (14 km). Continue on D6 for 4 km, turn north on D163, site is signed. After 2 km. turn right and follow lane up to site.
