Alan Rogers Review
This site with a charming name is set on the top of a hill in the heart of the Périgord Noir, yet just 2 km. from Les Eyzies. The site is on two levels and the lower, quieter level has a spacious feeling with touring caravans and tents being positioned around its perimeter, leaving the centre clear. There are 80 level pitches, of which 10 are used for mobile homes and 2 new chalets. The pitches have dappled shade and 10A electricity. Donkey renting is popular with donkeys being used to help out with walks lasting from half a day to 3 days and more.
The emphasis here is on the family and the activities are numerous. An adventure camp for 13-17 year olds is popular and this runs from Monday to Friday. A children’s farm has a number of animals and a club is organised for children daily in high season. There is a snack bar with themed menus. Many interesting historical sites to visit in this area include caves, châteaux and museums.
Sanitary block with facilities for disabled visitors. Bar. Restaurant/snack bar. Takeaway. TV, Internet access and WiFi in the bar. Swimming and paddling pools. Boules. Play area. Private access to the river. Fishing. Sports field. Only gas barbecues are permitted. American type motor homes are not accepted.
LocationFrom Les Eyzies head south on the D706 towards Le Bugue. Turn left immediately after the Renault garage and follow road for 2 km. Site is signed along this road. Link to campsite location map on google
