Situated just north of Augsburg, this beautifully run site with its own small lake, is a pleasure to stay on. Gabi Ryssel, the owner, spends her long days working very hard to cater for every wish of her guests – from the moment you arrive and are given the key to one of the cleanest toilet blocks we have seen, plus plenty of tourist information, you are in very capable hands. The 50 level, grass and gravel pitches are roomy and have shade from pine trees. Electricity connections are available (10/16A Europlug). This is an immaculate site with a separate area for those with reduced mobility to park near the accessible facilities provided. The site is located beside a busy main road. A key (deposit payable) is needed to access washrooms and water points.

The site has a very comprehensive camping shop (only a few basic foodstuffs as there is a supermarket over the road) and an excellent restaurant overlooking a small lake. A paddling pool (part of the lake cordoned off) is provided for children with a safe little sandy area (toys also thoughtfully supplied) along with benches to enjoy the view over the lake. There is easy access by bus (a stop just over the road) to Augsburg, a beautiful town, with lots of sights and a history dating back over 2000 years. The town also has a brilliant beer festival in April and September (definitely a must!)

The toilet block (cleaned several times daily) provides British style WCs and good showers with seating area and non-slip flooring. Baby room. Separate family bathroom to rent. Five-star accessible facilities. Separate room with washing machine and laundry sinks. Motorhome services. Small shop, lakeside restaurant/bar/takeaway (all season). Small playground (partially fenced). Bicycle hire. Free WiFi. Trampolines. Surfboards and rowing boats (free). Dog shower.

Directions to Lech Camping

Site is 8 km. NNE of Augsburg at the border of Mühlhausen. Leave E52/A8 (Munich-Stuttgart) at exit 73 and follow signs to Neuburg/Pöttmes. After 3 km. (pass airport on right) on U49 you will see the Mühlhausen sign. Lech Camping is on right.
