Camping-Park Viechtach, although reached via a small industrial area, is a relaxing place at which to stay, well laid out in a woodland setting on the edge of the village. The various trees and shrubs give a garden effect and there is good shade in most parts. A tarmac road winds its way between the grass pitches (most terraced) which are separated by rocks and trees and marked by plaques.
There are 263 pitches (183 for touring units), all with 6A electricity, and size varies from small for some motorhomes to quite large for bigger units (100 sq.m). Whether for a night stop or for a longer stay to visit the Bavarian Forest, this site is well worth considering.
Facilities at Knaus Campingpark Viechtach
Two heated sanitary blocks, one central to the touring pitches, the other at the top end of the site on the ground floor of a larger building, with a drying room. Facilities are similar with washbasins (some private cabins), sinks and showers. Accessible facilities, Washing machines, dryers and irons. Gas supplies. Bread to order. Attractive bar/restaurant. Small shop. Heated indoor pool with sauna and solarium. Playgrounds for all ages. Bicycle hire. Two small games rooms. Large screen TV. WiFi (charged).
