This long established, riverside site is now part of the Knaus Camping group and is already seeing major improvements. Extended along a kilometre of the banks of the Mosel, the site boasts its own marina for campers who enjoy boating, canoeing and other watersports. Toilet facilities are of the highest quality. A small swimming pool is heated in season, overlooked by the restaurant and terrace bar. Recent additions include a beach volleyball court and a small playground. All touring pitches have 16A electricity hook-ups.

We found the restaurant and bar very friendly, with a good selection of dishes for adults and children at sensible prices. Being in Germany and on the Mosel, the range of beers and wines in the region is exceptional, with tasting opportunities at almost every corner. The scenery is dramatic, this part of the Mosel being in a deep gorge of thickly wooded slopes. The site offers advice on all the local cycling and walking routes as well as boat trips on the river from nearby centres. There are also a number of ancient castles to explore. A sandy beach has been laid at the Marina.

Directions to Knaus Campingpark Mosel/Burgen

On the B49, just south of Burgen. Clearly signed from both directions, but if approaching from the south the road markings can confuse and care must be taken in turning into the site entrance. Reception hut immediately inside gate.
