On the bank of the River IJsel, in an attractive rural location roughly half-way between Amsterdam and the German border, Camping ’t Haasje has 285 pitches, 100 for touring (100 sq.m) all with 4-6A electricity. It is within striking distance of three motorways and could be a convenient stop-over on a journey to or from Denmark or northern Gemany. It would, however, repay a longer visit by nature-lovers, walkers and cyclists: the western IJsel valley has a unique flora, has several Nature Reserves and is popular as a nesting area for birds. A number of small towns and villages are nearby, the historical city of Zwolle and Deventer are an easy drive away, whilst IJselmeer is a possible destination for a day out. In Deventer one can visit the bridge from the historical correct WWII film A Bridge Too Far.

The site takes its name from the brick factory that formerly occupied this bend in the river, and there is still a stone oven and part of the original chimney at its centre. The restaurant is housed in a building once occupied by the presses. The area has several castles and a number of museums, amusement and adventure parks and animal parks.

Directions to Camping ’t Haasje

Olst is 100 km. east of Amsterdam (120 km. by road) and 76 km. from German border. From A1 Amsterdam/Osnabrück motorway, take exit 23 for Deventer, turn north on N348 and by-pass town following N337 towards Zwolle. At crossroads at Den Nul turn west on minor road and in 1.4 km. follow one-way system round fields to campsite.
