Alan Rogers Review
Camping la Rivière is situated on the banks of the Dordogne with direct access to the river and a sand and pebble beach. It is a natural rural site and in a pleasant location. The A20 motorway and the town of Souillac are just 15 km away. The welcome from the owners is warm and friendly and they place much importance on customer service and a pleasant family atmosphere. There are 110 pitches of which 19 are for mobile homes (all for rent). The remaining 91 pitches are for touring units, and all have electricity (10A). Of a good size, all are level and on grass and divided by trees and shrubs which provide a good amount of shade. There is a lagoon-shaped swimming pool together with a paddling pool. Thoughtfully, there are two separate games areas, one for the toddlers and one for the rest.
There is a children’s club for 5-11 year olds and teen evenings for 11-15 year olds. The site has its own snack bar, but within 4 km there is a choice of numerous gastronomic restaurants. The closest one, which has an excellent reputation, is just 300 m. away. Many interesting places to visit are within a short distance including the Dordogne Valley, Rocamadour, Padirac Cave, Sarlat and the Lascaux Caves.
