De Roos is a family run site in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, truly a nature lovers’ campsite, immersed in an atmosphere of tranquillity. It is situated in Overijssel’s Vecht Valley, a unique region set in a river dune landscape on the River Vecht. The river and its tributary wind their way unhurriedly around and through this spacious campsite. It is a natural setting that the owners of De Roos have carefully preserved. The 275 pitches and necessary amenities have been blended into the landscape with great care. Pitches, most with electricity hook-up (6A Europlug), are naturally sited, some behind blackthorn thickets, in the shadow of an old oak or in a clearing scattered with wild flowers.

For some there are lovely views over the Vecht river. De Roos is a car-free campsite during peak periods – vehicles must be parked at the car park, except on arrival and departure. Motorhome owners can drive to their pitch then cycle or walk for the duration of their holiday. Vehicles are allowed on site in low season at extra cost. Swimming, fishing and boating are possible in the river, or from an inlet that runs up into the site where there is a small beach with a protected area for swimming and landing stages with steps. The enthusiastic owners have compiled walking and cycling routes which are written in English and follow the ever-changing countryside of the Vecht Valley.

Four well maintained sanitary blocks are kept fresh and clean. The two larger blocks are heated and include baby bath/shower and wash cabins. Launderette. Motorhome services. Gas supplies. Health food shop and tea room serving snacks (high season). Bicycle hire. Boules. Several small playgrounds and field for kite flying. Sports field. Football. Volleyball. River swimming. Fishing. Free WIFI.  Pets are accepted and must be kept on a lead!. Torch useful. Bungalows for rent (all year).

Directions to Camping Huttopia De Roos

Leave A28 at Ommen exit 21 and join N340 for 19 km. to Ommen. Turn right at traffic lights over bridge (River Vecht) and immediately left on local road towards Beerze. Site on left after 7 km. just after Beerze village sign.
