Alan Rogers Review
Everyone gets a warm welcome from the Lowe family when they arrive at Twenty Shilling Wood. Set amongst 10.5 acres of wooded hillside, this unusual park has a few touring pitches for caravans and motorhomes (no tents), plus a number of owner-occupied caravan holiday homes.
However, with terracing and landscaping, not many of these are visible and flowering trees and shrubs help to hide them.
The lowest level is the entrance where there is a late arrivals area and visitor car park. You will be escorted to your pitch. There are just 12 level touring pitches on gravel with grass bays between them, all with 10A electricity hook-ups.
Television reception is poor. There are many walks in the area from strenuous Munros to a gentle stroll to the Devil’s Cauldron waterfall. On-site attractions include free Wi-Fi, a nature walk and French boule court and a children’s woodland play park. A pub, farm shop and restaurant and village amenities are available a short walk away
Clean and spacious toilet blocks have some washbasins in cubicles for both men and women (key access; deposit required). Dishwashing area and laundry. No shop. Gas available. Games room with pool table, table tennis (both free) and lounge area with comfortable seating and well stocked library. Fenced adventure playground for all ages. Entrance barrier (deposit for card). Only two dogs per pitch are accepted. Fenced dog walking area.
LocationPark is on north side of A85 Crieff-Lochearmead road, 0.75 miles west of B827 junction, 0.5 miles west of Comrie. Link to campsite location map on google
