Alan Rogers Review of Camping de la Plage
The Carnac and La Trinité area of Brittany is popular with British holidaymakers. Camping de la Plage is a well established site with direct access to the safe, sandy beach of Kervillen Plage. There are 195 grass pitches, some of which are used by tour operators and others occupied by mobile homes (available to rent), but many are available for touring. Pitches are all hedged and of a good size (100 sq.m) and have 6/10A electricity, water and drainage. The site has a slight slope and a few pitches reflect this. With narrow roads and sharp bends, La Plage may not be suitable for larger units.
The shop, restaurant and bar, 200 m. along the coast, and overlooking Quiberon Bay, are used by local residents and provide excellent value. The restaurant and takeaway have extensive menus. A lively entertainment programme for all ages in high season makes this an attractive site for family holidays. La Trinité is a world famous yachting centre and is a delightful place for an evening stroll. It also hosts a colourful market on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Facilities at Camping de la Plage
Two sanitary blocks (one heated) have free hot water, washbasins in cubicles, baby baths and facilities for children and accessible facilities. Laundry facilities. Swimming pool with water slides. Play areas including ball pool. Tennis. TV. Entertainment programme in high season for all ages. Bicycle hire. Canoe hire. Beach. Guided tours. Internet access and WiFi throughout (charged). Communal barbecue areas (gas or electric only on pitches).
Directions to Camping de la Plage
From N165 at Auray take D28 (La Trinité-sur-Mer). On through town following signs to Carnac-Plage on D186. Site signed off this road to the south. Take care to take road signed to Kervillen Plage where it forks. At seafront turn right. Site is 300 m. on right and is well signed.
