Le Plein Air des Chênes is situated just outside the village of Clapiers, about 5 km. from the interesting city of Montpellier, yet merely 20 km. from a choice of Mediterranean beaches. However, the site itself has much to offer, with an amazing pool complex with toboggans, cascades, pools and a wonderful children’s pool area, not to mention an Auberge (open all year). In the main season, there is plenty of entertainment, but it is also a good base from which to explore the countryside. There are 40 touring pitches, most with 10A electricity (some large with individual toilet cabin), all in a shaded, terraced setting. There are over 200 mobile homes for rent on the site too.

There are some 200+ chalets and mobile homes to rent, mixed in with the touring pitches. The nature of the wooded terrain means some up and down walking. The tram route into Montpellier is a short drive away and the city is well worth exploring with its markets and ancient university. If you are into watersports, the Gorges de l’Hérault will provide plenty of thrills. The Cevennes National Park has some wonderful walking, and many beaches are within an easy drive. The site is now owned by a small group, ‘Sandaya’, with several other parks located in Paris, Normandy, and on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts.

Two well equipped modern toilet blocks of circular design provide washbasins in cabins and facilities for babies (code) and accessible facilities. Washing machines. Fridge hire. Excellent restaurant open to the public (all year). Bar, pool side bar, café/takeaway (Seasonal). Swimming pools (Seasonal; limited public access, mornings reserved for campers). Aqua bicycles. Two tennis courts. Multisports court. Play area. Miniclub. Evening entertainment in main season. WiFi over site (charged).

Location

Site is north of Montpellier, 8 km. from A9. Exit 28 on N113 towards Montpellier passing Vendargues. Follow signs for Millau on D65, then Clapiers and follow site signs.
