Originally a simple ‘camping à la ferme’, this site has been developed by a Dutch organisation into an extensive, very well equipped and well-maintained campsite. Located around two attractive fishing lakes, the 164 pitches, most available for touring, are spacious and attractively laid out with plenty of grass, hedges and trees, some young, some mature. All have electricity (6/10A), and a few are very large. There are 38 mobile homes to rent. An old barn has been converted into a large restaurant offering an extensive French menu, including a ‘menu du jour’. Also here are a small bar, a shop selling necessary provisions and the reception area.

Nearby is a smaller, open-ended barn that has been fitted out for activities and has a large television to screen key events and football matches. There is a good heated pool with a paddling pool, water slides and a long flume. The busy fishing port of Saint Gilles Croix-de-Vie with its quayside bars and restaurants, its attractive pedestrianised streets, its extensive marina and its ‘Grande Plage’ is just a short drive away. This stretch of coast offers a good choice of other sandy beaches and there are plenty of well documented places to go and things to do in the area.

Two large, modern sanitary blocks built in traditional style have excellent toilets, showers and washbasins in cubicles. Good accessible facilities. Attractively tiled areas for babies and children, with special toilets, washbasins and showers. Two smaller blocks provide additional facilities. Laundry room with washing machines and dryers. Motorhome services. Small shop. Bar counter with terrace. Restaurant. All facilities available all season. Heated outdoor swimming pool with slides. Play area. Bicycle hire. Fishing lakes. Directions to RCN Camping la Ferme du Latois

Coëx is 29 km. west of La Roche-sur-Yon via the D948 to Aizenay, then the D6 Coëx south ring road. Site is south of Coëx. Take first left off D40 to La Chaize-Giraud and site is clearly signed.
