This is a most attractive and popular site set in a wooded valley alongside the River Prüm. The site has an excellent restaurant, pizzeria and takeaway and a beautiful heated swimming pool. 91 pitches are now fully serviced. There are 80 long-stay units grouped in a separate area at the western end of the site, with the touring area stretching out alongside the river. The 160 touring pitches are on grass, mostly separated by hedging and all with 16A electricity. Pitches vary in size (from 30-110 sq.m) and price, and there is shade from mature trees in most parts.

The restaurant, which is also open to the public, is of very high quality with menus printed in German, Dutch and English, and a good range of meals to suit all tastes and budgets (all year). There is a separate bar, a pizzeria (Papa Razzo), plus a takeaway service.

The heated outdoor swimming pool, with diving boards for adults and a water slide for children is free to campers, with a lifeguard on duty. A full size football pitch and volleyball court are provided. Children, under supervision, can paddle and fish for tiddlers in the river, but no swimming is allowed.

Location

Oberweis is 35 km. northwest of Trier. From the A60 (E29) take exit 6, and head south to Bitburg, then B50 west for 8 km. to Oberweis. Immediately after sharp right hand bend at entry to town turn left before river bridge and garage (blue circle site sign). Continue to end of road and site entrance is to right of pool complex.
