This campsite is located in a spa town, 20 km from Lisbon. Given its proximity to the Portuguese capital, it has numerous permanent facilities and is perfect for weekends at any time of the year. Caparica campsite has a large leisure area, social hall, terraces, a mini-market and bar-restaurant. The beach is just 200m away. With relatively easy access to Lisbon via the motorway, by bus or even by bus and ferry, this site is situated near a small resort, favoured by the Portuguese themselves, which has all the usual amenities. Of the 440 pitches, 250 are for touring units, although some can only accommodate tents; all have 6A electrical connections available. A row of pitches close to the road can accommodate larger units. In addition, there are 90 permanent caravans and 90 chalets, tents and mobile homes to rent.

If you need a site by the sea from which you can visit Lisbon, then this fits the bill. The immediate vicinity is mainly occupied by apartment blocks and, towards the sea, more campsites, but there are a few cafés and restaurants, a bakery and a couple of supermarkets nearby. Along the road is the resort of Costa da Caparica with a full range of dining and retail opportunities. The seafront closest to the site has a walkway along the sea defences, with a decent-looking seafood and Sushi restaurant. There are some fine sandy beaches along the coast in both directions. Lisbon is clearly rich in historical and architectural delights and would repay more than a single visit.

The three toilet blocks have mostly British style toilets, washbasins with cold water and some controllable showers, although these come under pressure when the site is full. Accessible Facilities. Directions to Orbitur Camping Costa da Caparica

Costa da Caparica is on the coast across the Tagus bridge (toll) from Lisbon. From A2 motorway take exit 1 for Caparica and Trafaria. At 7 km. marker on IC20 turn right (signed Santo António and Trafaria). Site is on the right at the second roundabout.
