Having visited this site on several occasions, I have always found it to be pristine - pitches mowed, hedges cut, no litter and spotless, sanitary facilities. Access is easy, direct from the A 1 in the village of Cromwell and sat-nav can be relied upon, there is a modern reception and check in which is very quick and efficient. Just by the gate of the site is a new Micro-Brewery with undercover outdoor seating, and each evening, a different mobile food van serves a variety of hot food.

This site is a good midway stopover if you are travelling on the A1, an excellent site for fishing as there are two well-stocked lakes on site and a good location for touring Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

The park is served by a local bus to Newark - from Monday to Saturday, and there you can get a train to Lincoln or Nottingham.

Newark, with its Civil War museum and Castle, is just 6 miles and well worth a visit; you will also find a traditional market square and a selection of supermarkets.

Belton House and Belvoir Castle are less than an hour's drive away and worth visiting.

The site is a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club Affiliated Site Scheme but visitors who are not members of the club are also very welcome.

Two heated toilet blocks provide pushbutton showers and open-style washbasins (may be under pressure at busy times). Excellent en-suite accessible facilities. Family room. Washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities. Gas sales. Motorhome services. Chemical toilet point. Comprehensive tourist information, guides and children’s quiz sheets on the site’s wildlife. No children's play area. Fishing (charged). Lakeside cabin with nature and fishing displays. Wi-Fi throughout (charged). Late-night arrivals area. Pets accepted. Dog Walk. Dog Wash. BBQs allowed. TV reception good. Bus stop 90 metres. Train station 5 miles. No tents allowed. Earliest time of arrival 12 noon. Caravan & motorhome storage.

Location

From North: approximately seven miles south of Markham Moor service area on the A1, about one mile on from the ‘Carlton and Kneesall’ exit, take the exit for ‘Cromwell and Norwell’. At the top of the bridge turn right, then right again and Milestone is 150 yards on the left just before you go back onto the A1. From South: approximately seven miles further north bound on the A1 past Newark. Look out for the BP petrol station on the left-hand side. About 1 mile after the BP petrol station (after 2nd bridge) exit left following signs for Cromwell Gravel Works and Cromwell. Follow the road into the village - the site is situated on the right.
