Camping Le Transat is a family-oriented site two kilometres outside of Saint-Georges-d'Oléron, a mere five-minute drive from the nearest sandy beach. As the beach is so close to the campsite, you will likely spend a few days on Plage de Foulerot soaking up the sun and swimming in the sea. It is located on Ile de Oléron, one of western France's prettiest islands, where you can hire a bike at reception and pedal through the dunes. The site has 73 pitches of which 35 are for touring units and have a 10-amp hook-up point. Mobile homes, chalets, and lodge tents occupy the rest.

Stays can be as lively or laid back as you wish, as you can take a dip in the pool and relax on the surrounding sun loungers, or you can play a game of boules. In the summer, children will not be short of activities either, as there is a dedicated children's pool with a fountain and slide and on site-organised entertainment. Younger children and teens have dedicated entertainment throughout the day, with frequent sports activities and crafts events to get involved with. After a day of exploring the surrounding area or enjoying the on-site activities, the onsite restaurant serves international dishes such as pizza, or you can enjoy a delicious cooked fish dish.

Directions to Camping Le Transat

Take exit 35 from the A10 at Saintes and then west on the D78 to Marennes. Cross the (toll-free) bridge and join the D26 and then D734 towards Dolus d’Oléron and Saint- Pierre d’Oléron. At Saint- Pierre d’Oléron turn right to continue on D734. Next turn left onto the D273 At a crossroads turn right and shortly left to follow La Jousselinière and site signs.
