Alan Rogers Review of Le Grand Paris
Le Grand Paris is a small, informal site 33 km. northwest of Paris. It is situated on the southern outskirts of the village of Nesles-la-Vallée in a pretty, tree-lined river valley not far from l’Isle-Adam, which is a popular destination for Parisians at weekends. Many of the 135 pitches are occupied by seasonal caravans but there are 65 large, flat pitches available for touring all with 3/9A electricity and 25 also have water and waste water drainage. The site is informally arranged around a duck pond with many trees to provide shelter and shade.
Chantilly, Parc Astérix and Disneyland are easily reached by car. By far the best way to visit Paris is by train from Valmondois, 5 minutes away via the D15 road (trains every half hour, journey time about 50 minutes).
Facilities at Le Grand Paris
The main, central toilet block (heated in cooler weather) includes washbasins in rather small cubicles and, in separate rooms, rather older style British and squat toilets. Washing machine. Smaller, much older unit includes fairly basic accessible facilities. Playground. Sports area. Swimming pool, WIFI, Pets allowed.
Directions to Le Grand Paris
From A15 exit 10 take D915 (Pontoise), avoiding town centre, then D27 (Beauvais) which joins D927, then D79 to Nesles-la-Vallée. Site on left as you leave village on D64. From N1 or A16 (exit 11) take D922 southwest (l’Isle-Adam), then D64 northwest (Nesles-la-Vallée). Site on right as you enter village.
