Kamp Koren is situated in picturesque valley by the Soča river, 500 m from historical town Kobarid. A unique campsite and sole holder of the eco certificates: EU Ecolabel and Ecocamping. Its policy is to keep the environment clean and have minimum effect on nature. Slovenia’s first ecological site is in a quiet location above the emarald coloured river, within easy walking distance of Kobarid. The site has slightly sloping pitches, all with 6/16A electricity and ample tree shade. It is deservedly very popular with those interested in outdoor sports, be it on the water, in the mountains or in the air. At the same time, its peaceful location makes it an ideal choice for those seeking a relaxing break. At the top of the site there are also a number of well equipped chalets and a shady area, mainly for tents and glamping.

Kobarid, probably best approached via Udine in Italy, is a pleasant country town, with easy access to nearby rivers, valleys and mountains, which alone justify a visit to Kamp Koren. But most British visitors will remember it for the opportunity it provides to fill that curious gap in their knowledge of European history. Kamp Koren is situated in the Triglav National Park and next to the Soča, one of the most beautiful European rivers also used as a set for the film The Chronicles of Narnia. Walking distance from the center of Kobarid, this historic place offers excellent cuisine. The local museum in Kobarid was voted European Museum of the Year and is excellent. You can camp with your own equipment or stay in the eco chalets or glamping huts.

Directions to Kamp Koren

Approaching Kobarid from Tolmin on 102, just before Kobarid turn right on 203 towards Bovec and after 100 m. take descending slip road to right and keep more or less straight on to Napoléon’s bridge (about 500 m). Cross bridge and site is on left in 100 m.
