Lanmary, the first Huttopia forest camp, opened in 2013 has been carefully integrated into the landscape of the Lanmary National Forest. Some of the access routes in the campsite are quite rough and steep. Cars are only allowed on arrival and departure days. There are several designs of pre-erected tents and chalets, some on substantial stilts. Two chalets are adapted for disabled use (car access permitted). The touring tents can be pitched in defined areas and have plenty of space around each pitch, while other units must use the level pitches by the entrance. These are served by a large sanitary block, while three smaller blocks serve the tented areas.

Lanmary is centrally placed for many of the Perigord prehistoric sites - the Lascaux cave known for its wall paintings, and a number of ancient Troglodyte caves and villages. Perigueux is just 12 km. to the southwest for a good range of shops and cool narrow streets filled with cafés. There is also a daily morning market. The more active camper may hire canoes on the nearby River Dronne or cycle along the well signed routes through the forest and countryside. For the younger camper, the tree-top adventure park in Thenon may appeal. After a day out exploring, the campsite’s inviting bar and restaurant, with board games for children, may be the ideal spot.

One wooden sanitary block has accessible facilities. Three smaller blocks in the tent area. Covered dishwashing sinks. Washing machine and dryers. Fridge hire. Fresh bread daily and grocery corner. Bar/restaurant and pizzeria (July/Aug, weekends and public holidays). Heated swimming and paddling pools (14/4-18/9. Only electric barbecues allowed). Large central lodge with wood-burning fire and communal area. Children’s club (5-7/8-12 yrs). Forest skills and nature activities. Play area. Pétanque. Evening entertainment. Mountain bike hire. Internet in reception.

Location

This site is approximately 12 km. northeast of Perigueux. From Perigueux take N21 and 2 km. after Antonne-et-Trigonant turn left onto D69 for 3.2 km. to site.
