Formerly known as Camping am Stadtwaldsee, this well designed and purpose built campsite overlooking a lake is ideally placed for those travelling to northern Europe and for people wishing to visit Bremen and places within the region. There is a bus stop outside the site. Of the 220 level pitches 168 are for touring units, standing on grass with openwork reinforcements at the entrances. All have electricity (16A), water and drainage. The pitches are positioned around the spacious grass-roofed sanitary block and are laid out in areas separated by trees and hedges. A restaurant/cafeteria with open-air terrace overlooks the lake.

For those arriving late or seeking only an overnight stop, there is a special parking area at the entrance of the site (wohnmobilhafen) where facilities are operated by coins. Bremen is a cyclist’s city and, apart from the city itself, it is well worth visiting the Universum Science Centre. There are plenty of interesting tours that can be comfortably made on two wheels in this flat region. There are boat rides on the River Weser and the Schnur Viertel (old quarter) is a maze of 16th-century houses. At the centre of the city is the Town Hall, which gained UNESCO World Heritage status in 2004. A well-marked walking tour of the city takes about 45 minutes and will include these essential sights.

From A27 northeast of Bremen take exit 19 for Universitat and follow signs for university and camping. Site is on the left, 1 km. after leaving the university area.
