Alan Rogers Review
This spacious 16-acre site lying alongside the southern end of Bala lake has its own small beach and boat launching area. The site is in a grassy, parkland setting, fairly open and reasonably level, but with natural terraces. There are 204 pitches, with 50 for seasonal units and 154 for touring; 150 have 10A electricity hook-up and there are 19 on hardstandings. A hardstanding area by the beach is a favourite with motorhome owners. Many pitches have views of the lake or the surrounding hills.
Lake swimming is possible and the private beach allows easy access for windsurfing. Boats can be launched from the site (a day ticket must be purchased from the National Park wardens to use the lake). The park is also an ideal base for some serious walking.
Facilities
Three modern sanitary blocks (one heated) are fully equipped and have facilities for babies and accessible facilities. Motorhome services. Small, well stocked shop. Gas supplies. Good, fenced play area by entrance. Lake swimming, fishing and small boat launching (permit). Only 1 dog per pitch. Breathable groundsheets only and only for min. 3-day stay.
Location
From Bala take A494 southwest towards Dolgellau for 3 miles, entrance on left, on right-hand bend.
