Alan Rogers Review of Fabulous Camping Village
Fabulous Camping Village is a venture by the 'Human' Company. Purchased a number of years ago, the re-developments are now complete and they have created a superb family campsite on top of a hill, midway between Rome and the sea. The site is attractively located under tall pine trees which give plenty of shade. Pitches are of varying size, all with 6/10A electricity and access is by tarmac and hardcore roads. They are frequently positioned close to the access routes so there can be a little noise. The wonderful 2 pools and jacuzzis, tennis courts and activity amenities are at the far end of the site where there are superb views towards Rome.
As more amenities for children have now been added and existing facilities updated, families can enjoy it here. Closeness to the sea and the delights of Rome are a bonus. Go-karts can be hired and a mini-club for children from 4 years is organised during high season. The amenities are by the reception and include an internet/information area. Also here is a very large bar, entertainment area and restaurant. When we visited there were many young campers and it can become rather loud, however, on a site of this size quieter areas can be found.
Facilities at Fabulous Camping Village
Two blocks, one in traditional style in the permanent area and one new for the touring units. This block is excellent. Accessible Facilities. Baby rooms. Washing machines. Motorhome services. Excellent supermarket. Restaurant/pizzeria and bar. Three swimming pools, one for paddling, with lifeguards. Play area. Tennis. Miniclub (5 yrs plus) and teenage activities. Entertainment programme for all ages. Bicycle hire. Internet. Torches useful. WiFi on part of site (charged). No charcoal barbecues permitted.
Directions to Fabulous Camping Village
Site is southwest of Rome. It is on the GRA (Rome’s M25 equivalent ring road). Take exit 27 or 26 depending on the direction of approach. Continue for 6 km. towards Ostia. At traffic lights turn right. Site on right well before 2.6 m. height restriction.
