Alan Rogers Review of East Fleet Farm Touring Park

East Fleet Farm has a marvellous situation on part level, part gently sloping meadows leading to the shores of the Fleet, with views across to the famous Chesil Bank with the sea beyond. The Whitfield family has developed this park within the confines of their 300-acre organic arable farm in keeping with its surroundings, yet with modern amenities. It is maturing well as bushes and trees grow.

The 400 pitches (some seasonal) back onto hedges and are of a comfortable size, so there is no feeling of crowding. Of these, 350 are level and marked with 10/16 amp electricity, over 70 also have hardstanding, and some are fully serviced. The large shop has a good range of camping equipment and outdoor gear. The site is a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club Affiliated Site Scheme, but visitors who are not members of the club are very welcome.

The popular terraced bar with views over the Fleet was converted from a barn featuring original beams and brickwork and has been extended. Part of the World Heritage Coast, the Fleet is a lagoon renowned for its wildlife and popular with bird watchers. The busy resort of Weymouth with its safe bathing beaches and many watersports facilities is only 3 miles away (bicycle hire and boat launching possible).
