This campsite is located within the leisure centre of Houssay, close to the River Sarthe. Set in 40 hectares, it is also the closest campsite to the 24-hour race circuit at Le Mans, some 6 km. away. There are 86 pitches arranged in a horseshoe shape around a lake. Pitches are of a good size and all have electricity (10A). This is a green and open site with varying degrees of shade.

The leisure centre offers a range of activities and it is a short walk into the local village of Spay for any daily needs. The campsite will be very busy when the 24-hour circuit is in use, but there is an overspill area for additional camping.

At other times, the principal attraction might be the good range of facilities available in the leisure centre, which includes an aqua park. There are marked walking and mountain bike trails around the Domaine de Houssay. Inflatable games are set up on the lake (supervised) in summer including icebergs, trampolines and see-saws.

The centrally located toilet block provides toilets, showers and dishwashing and laundry sinks. Facilities for children, babies and accessible facilities. Washing machine and dryer. Motorhome services. Communal room with TV area. Bicycle, canoe and pedalo hire. Caravans and chalets to rent. Lake swimming (beach showers). Free WiFi over part of site. Waymarked trails from campsite.

Directions to Domaine du Houssay

From Le Mans head southwest on D323 then left on D147S towards Arnage. Turn right on D212 at big crossroads towards Spay, continue under motorway bridge then sharp right turn to narrow single lane bridge over the Sarthe. After bridge is sports centre on right, with campsite immediately after on right.
