Run by the city council, this popular site is set within acres of parkland, one mile from the city centre, ideal for visiting the many attractions of the city of Cardiff. The campsite has 61 touring pitches which are on a relatively open area, with 43 on a grasscrete surface with 16A electric hook-ups and the remainder on grass. There is a public right of way through the site. Security is good with an on-site warden 24 hours a day and infrared security cameras constantly scanning the whole area.

The County Cricket Ground, Welsh Institute of Sport, the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff City FC, Cardiff Castle, museums and many other attractions are within walking distance. The recently redeveloped Cardiff Bay area is a 2.5-mile cycle ride (a good city centre cycle route map is available from reception), or there is a bus service from just outside the gate.

Facilities at Cardiff Caravan Park

Two heated buildings, each with key code entry systems. The one by reception has a laundry with washer and dryer, and accessible facilities. Both have controllable hot showers. Café near reception run by Pedal Power (a cycling charity). Baby facilities. Bicycle hire (the site specialises in bicycles adapted for disabled visitors).

Directions to Cardiff Caravan Park

From M4 Junction 32 follow signs for Cardiff city centre. On reaching the city centre keep Cardiff Castle on your right and stay in the right hand lane to the left you will see the Millennium Stadium. Go over the bridge and turn first right at the traffic lights into Cathedral Street. At the next set of lights turn right into Sophia Close and Sophia Gardens. Turn left at the roundabout and pass the Swalec Stadium on your right and keep going into the park, the site is on the left. Use CF11 9XR in your SatNav.
