Münstertal is an impressive site pleasantly situated in a valley on the western edge of the Black Forest. It has been one of the top graded sites in Germany for 25 years and first time visitors will soon realise why when they see the standard of the facilities here. There are 305 individual pitches in two areas, either side of the entrance road on flat gravel, their size varying from 70-100 sq.m. All have electricity (16A), water, drainage, TV and radio connections. The large indoor pool and the outdoor pool are both heated and free. The adjacent Health and Fitness Centre offers a range of treatments.

Children are very well catered for here with a play area and play equipment, tennis courts, minigolf, a games room with table tennis, table football and a pool table and fishing. Riding is popular and the site has its own stables. The site organises regular guided walks and cycle rides, plus winter sports and cross-country skiing (there are courses in winter for both children and adults, and ski hire). Visitors wanting a quiet holiday are thoughtfully pitched on one side of the site, whilst more active families and children are pitched nearer the games and sports areas. The site becomes full in season and reservations, especially in July, are necessary.

Three toilet blocks are of truly first class quality, with washbasins, all in cabins, showers with full glass dividers, baby bath, an accessible unit and individual bathrooms, some for hire. Dishwashers in two blocks. Laundry. Drying room. Motorhome services. Well stocked shop (all year). Restaurant, particularly good (closed Nov). Heated swimming pools, indoor all year, outdoor (with children’s area). New health and fitness centre. Sauna and solarium. Games room. Extensive playing fields. Fishing. Bicycle hire. Location

Münstertal is south of Freiburg. From A5 autobahn take exit 64, turn southeast via Bad Krozingen and Staufen and continue 5 km. to the start of Münstertal, where site is signed from the main road on the left.
