This family run campsite is on the edge of the small town of Dransfeld in the heart of Lower Saxony. There are over 300 pitches of which 150 are for touring units, all with 16A electrical connections and 20 also have water and waste water connections. One touring section offers superb views over the surrounding countryside. The site is quiet and relaxing in low season, becoming more lively during the main holiday period with a range of activities and entertainment provided. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance, whilst the old town of Göttingen is an easy drive away and provides a wider range of shops, bars and restaurants.

Situated at a height of 420 m. above sea level, the site provides plenty of opportunities for healthy exercise on foot or bicycle; there is a variety of way-marked paths and hiking trails taking you across fields and through mixed deciduous woods. Mrs. Lesser, the owner, specialises in health treatments, including sauna, chocolate massages, algae baths and herbalism. Just two kilometres away, on the Hoher Hagen mountain (580 m. above sea level), stands the Gaussturms, from the upper platform of which there are magnificent panoramic views to the Teutburger Forest, the Harz mountains and the Thüringer forest. The less energetic may choose to explore this attractive region by car.

Location

Dransfeld is 14 km. southwest of Göttingen and site is on southern edge of town. From A7 autobahn (Hannover-Kassel) at junction 73 (Göttingen) head west for 8 km. on B3 to Dransfeld, turn south at second major crossroads just after filling station, and follow signs to campsite on right in 1 km.
