Camping Zeeburg is a welcoming site attractively located to the east of Amsterdam on an island in the IJmeer and, unusually, combines a sense of nature with the advantage of being just 20 minutes (5 km) from the city centre. In a sense, Zeeburg reflects the spirit of Amsterdam, claiming to be open, friendly and tolerant. The site provides 350 pitches for tents (no electricity) and 100 pitches with 10A electricity for caravans and motorhomes, most on hardstandings and with views over the IJmeer. Tent pitches cannot be booked in advance and the maximum duration allowed on site is 14 days. Zeeburg also offers a number of colourful eco-cabins and Romany-style wagons or ‘pipowagens’.

The city centre can be easily accessed by bicycle (hire available on site). On-site amenities include a busy café/restaurant. There is a shop with a bakery (which claims to bake Amsterdam’s best croissants), a children’s farm and a canoe rental service. A swimming pool is adjacent. The wetlands of the IJmeer are well worth exploration, extending to the Diemerpark and new city of IJburg.

Directions to Camping Zeeburg Amsterdam

Site is on the east side of Amsterdam. From the A10 (Amsterdam ring road) take exit 14 (S114) to Zeeburg. Then follow signs to the city centre and, before reaching the Piet Hein tunnel turn left and then right into the campsite. The site is well signed from the A10.
